It was a whirlwind trip, but no doubt one they will never forget.

Kendall Jenner and Khloe Kardashian returned to Los Angeles on Thursday night after spending the day making some new friends in Mexico.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians sisters had visited the Black Jaguar White Tiger Foundation, a rescue organisation specialising in big cats.

Home sweet home: Kendall Jenner and Khloe Kardashian arrived back in Los Angeles on Thursday after a whirlwind trip to Mexico

During the visit, 31-year-old Khloe managed to scratch the belly of a fairly large jaguar, while 19-year-old Kendall spent time with a cub.

Kendall looked casual but chic as she was spotted at LAX airport with her big sister, clad in a pair of skinny jeans that highlighted her slender figure.

The model also sported a white T-shirt which revealed a hint of her bra underneath, and a pair of faux snakeskin cowboy boots, and had a plaid shirt tied around her waist.

Kendall tied her dark hair into a fuss-free ponytail and appeared to be make-up free under her aviator sunglasses.

Meanwhile Khloe kept cosy by carrying a soft blanket, and like her little sister she was dressed down.

Khloe sported a black cardigan over a matching T-shirt, along with jeans tucked into black boots.

Earlier, Khloe shared a photo while stroking one of the cats at the jaguars at the sanctuary, along with the caption: 'Things I've only dreamed of.'

Although it looked quite friendly in the photo, the cat seemed to be almost as long as Khloe was tall.

A second photo showed a close-up of a baby jaguar, who Khloe admitted to falling in love with.

'My day has only just begun... Look at this face!!! I'm in love with this baby,' she wrote.

Kendall did not show her face in any of her own Instagram photos, but she did catch two of the cats looking rather adorable.

In one, a tawny cub yawned widely, showing the teeth that could easily rip a person to pieces if it were displeased.

'With passion,' an impressed and adoring Kendall wrote.

The model's boots made a cameo in her second photo, which seemed to star the same baby jaguar that had been in Khloe's photos.

'Amazing day so far! with @blackjaguarwhitetiger and seeing what he does for these animals is so great. we need more people like him in this world,' Kendall captioned the picture.

Too cute: With many baby cats having been rescued by the group, Khloe admitted to falling in love with at least one of them

Such big teeth: Neither Kendall nor Khloe seemed too worried about the jaguars and tigers with whom they were playing

She then added an aside directed at anyone who might question her animal-loving credentials due to wearing snake-skin footwear: 'for all you haters, my boots are faux.'

The sisters flew to Mexico on Tuesday with mother Kris Jenner's toyboy, Corey Gamble.

Shortly after the reality stars were spotted heading to their flight at Los Angeles' LAX Airport, Khloe posted an Instagram video showing her and Kendall on the plane.

Black Jaguar White Tiger is a foundation that, according to its website, exists to protect 'defenseless and selfless' animals who have suffered due to human actions.

Animals at the foundation have been rescued from exotic pet dealers and circuses and include Siberian tigers, white tigers, lion cubs, and jaguars.

This was not the first celebrity visit to the foundation - Paris Hilton was there in November, while Kellan Lutz made a visit in May.
