With her blonde hair and blue/green eyes she's known for her quintessential Californian Girl looks.

But Gigi Hadid turned punk princess for the day as she attended several press events for Guess in Sydney on Friday.

The 20-year-old sported new blue dip-dyed locks and a slick of dark lipstick for the engagements.

Her new hair contrasted well with her all white ensemble, with the American model slipping her athletic physique into a pair of skin-tight jeans that finished just above her ankles.

She paired the pants with a crisp shirt unbuttoned at the collar to reveal a hint of cleavage, and draped a denim jacket over her shoulders.

A statement pair of snakeskin stiletto heels completed Gigi's look.

Gigi took to the stage at David Jones in Sydney's CBD, where she addressed the crowd on a large stage.

The generous star also took time out to take some selfies with a few lucky fans who could not contain their excitement at meeting the young fashionista.

The American beauty also appears to have found a new friend in David Jones ambassador, Montana Cox.

The pair posed and wrapped their arms around each other like they were old friends.

Montana was the ying to Gigi's yang, wearing black Guess jeans, a matching off-the-shoulder top and a pair of strappy stilettos.

Earlier in the day, Gigi also attended a brunch at Bondi's Icebergs Dining Room where she socialised with local fashionistas, including Lindy Klim, who cuddled up to the bombshell for a selfie.

She captioned the shot shared on social media: 'Just finished a beautiful brunch with this spunk.. @gigihadid #GigiTakesSydney #LoveGUESS'.

Just the day before Gigi was again in a mostly white ensemble at another Guess outing, this time at Westfield Miranda.

The ex girlfriend of Australian singer Cody Simpson paired a cute playsuit with a hooded vest with a sporty feel and peep-toe boots as she greeted the massive crowd of fans who turned out to see her.

Earlier this week Gigi opened up Daily Mail Australia about her model figure and how she grew up with 'huge thighs' and still 'eats like a man'.

A disciplined volleyball player, who qualified for America in the Junior Olympics, Gigi laughed: 'My thighs were huge, they were like rock!'

'Growing up I was really athletic and I had a very athletic body.

'I had like crazy muscles and I [ate] like a man - more than the man that I eat like now, like a bigger man - and it was crazy but at the time I didn't care what my body looked like, I just wanted to be the best volleyball player I could be so it didn't really matter to me.'

But while her active upbringing has been instrumental in shaping her approach to modelling, the Guess ambassador struggled to find management in the industry without a waif-like waist.

'When I first went to visit different agencies in New York, a lot of them were like, you have to lose a lot of weight,' Gigi, who still admits to eating multiple burgers a week, revealed.
