It's been just four days since the shock announcement that she is divorcing her husband of nearly 13 years, Gavin Rossdale.

And Gwen Stefani, pictured for the first time since the split, was no doubt trying to get back to some kind of normality on Friday when she stepped out in Beverly Hills to run errands.

The 45-year-old No Doubt rocker appeared downcast but flashed her wedding ring - still firmly on her left hand amid reports she suspects her husband of cheating.

Going solo: Gwen Stefani was spotted out for the first time since filing for divorce from Gavin Rossdale on Friday as she stepped out in Beverly Hills

Gwen wore her trademark red lipstick and pulled her platinum blonde locks into a high and tight top knot.

She teamed a red plaid shirt with cropped paint-splattered boyfriend jeans and skyscraper heels with glittery embellishments.

The Voice coach fixed her gaze on the ground and later shaded her eyes with stylish sunglasses.

Shortly after the couple released a statement about their split, reports emerged suggesting the Just A Girl hit maker filed for divorce due to the belief that Gavin was 'cheating' on her.

TMZ quoted sources as saying the divorce was a longtime coming.

The website also claims that Gwen was unhappy about how much Gavin was away from the family home when touring with his band Bush.

The duo announced their separation in a joint statement saying: 'While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment.'

Meanwhile, a source told Us Weekly that Gwen is 'upset' in the wake of the break-up, adding: 'She really gave it her all and tried to make it work as hard as she could for years. She was in love with him and they had the family she always dreamed of.

The insider continued: 'Stefani’s primary focus is making sure the kids are OK. They are trying not to fight around the kids and keep the kids’ world as undisturbed as possible. She is trying to make it as easy on them as she can.'

The couple have been married for almost 13 years and have three sons together: Kingston, nine, Zuma, who turns seven later this month, and 17-month-old Apollo.

Gwen filed papers to end their marriage in a California court, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.

The Bush frontman, 49, is said to have filed his response at the same time, and both parties are allegedly seeking joint custody of their children.

The website claims that the Don't Speak hit maker is not planning on providing Gavin with spousal support.

According to TMZ - who broke the news - the two stars did not sign a prenuptial agreement before tying the knot on September 14, 2002.

Per California law, this means that they are each entitled to half of what their community property.

Gwen is said to be worth around $80million, while Gavin is believed to be worth approximately $35million.

The couple have homes in Primrose Hill in London as well as Los Angeles.

The pair were last seen together celebrating the Fourth Of July at the home of Gwen's parents, along with their children.

Next month marks 13 years since Gwen and Gavin married in London. They held a second ceremony in Los Angeles two weeks later.

The musicians, who for the most part kept their relationship out of the public eye, started dating after meeting in 1995, when No Doubt opened for Bush on tour.

In January, Gwen teared-up while talking about her marriage in an interview on the Today show.

'If I look back on the whole thing the one thing that's been constant is that we both want the same thing,

'We both want to be married. We both want to be good parents, and so I feel really proud of what we've done together and that we don't...You're gonna get me crying, no don't, I'm going to get all emotional! But I am really proud of it.'

Their marriage hasn't been without its challenges, including Gavin discovering in 2004 that he had a teenage daughter, Daisy Lowe with former fashion designer girlfriend Pearl.

In 2010 the singer admitted to having a fling with singer Peter Robinson aka Marilyn.

Before dating Gavin, Gwen previously romanced No Doubt bassist Tony Kanal but was left heartbroken when he ended their relationship in 1994.

She later penned 1996 hit Don't Speak, about the break-up, which topped the charts in numerous countries across the globe.

Meanwhile, Gwen has been busy filming the upcoming season nine of The Voice alongside fellow celebrity judges Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams.
