Russian rapper Timati has thanked Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich for the loan of his £1.5 billion super yacht Eclipse - and promised not to break the dishes or bring girls on board.

The pro-Vladimir Putin singer posted a picture of himself on Instagram swimming beside the boat, moored off San Antonio in Ibiza.

The caption read: 'Dear Roman Abramovich, thank you for your trust. Not every tycoon can just leave his world's most expensive boat for a couple of days at the disposal of the novice rapper. I'm glad you chose me, not some Kanye or Jay-Z. I promise not to break the dishes, not to swear, and not to bring girls onto the boat.'

Real name Timur Yunusov, 31, he has collaborated with Western artists such as Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, and P.Diddy and his group Diddy - Dirty Money.

He has a one year old daughter by Russian model and Vice Miss Russia Alena Shishkova.

The rapper, born to a Tatar Muslim father and a Jewish mother, has been pictured with strongman Putin, and has strong admirers for his patriotism among key Kremlin supporters.

He backed Moscow on the Ukraine crisis, and last month he was banned from performing in Odessa amid claims he compared Kiev's aspiration for freedom and independence with the drug addiction.

Osessa governor Mikheil Saakashvili - the former president of Georgia - dubbed him a 'Putin sycophant' and demanded he should not be allowed 'onto embattled but free Ukrainian land'.

But controversial leader of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, accused of widespread human rights abuses, gushed: 'Timati is my friend! I respect him for the work, for the stance, for patriotism.

'Timati leads a healthy lifestyle. He does not drink, or smoke, and does sports at the level of a professional.

'Timati is setting an example to millions of young people in our country. For this he should be thanked.'

'Unfortunately, some members of our show business do not have similar qualities.

'In pursuit of the public they seek to emulate Western musicians, many of whom are openly proud that they are gay, spend years in rehab, and eventually die of an overdose or infection.

'A performer pretending to be the idol of young people should have morals and should not lead young people to spiritual impoverishment.'
