Kylie Jenner's 18th birthday dinner was a night to remember but the only sibling who appeared to be absent was Rob Kardashian.

The reclusive 28-year-old was not spotted among the family members who feted Kylie with well wishes and gifts at Nobu in Malibu, California on Friday.

Rob, who has kept out of the limelight for the past several months, may have wanted to avoid the cameras that captured his little sister's big moment that, one assumes, will appear on his family's reality show.

Where were you? Rob Kardashian wasn't spotted attending the 18th birthday celebration for his little sister Kylie Jenner on Friday night; the elusive brother was pictured on July 28 of last year

Milling around the Nobu car park were Kris Jenner in opaque shades and her ex - the recently revealed transgender Caitlyn Jenner - along with pregnant Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and Kendall.

Kylie wore a white jumpsuit and looked super excited behind the wheel of a red Mercedes G-wagon.

She also shared an Instagram of one of her gifts, a Hermes handbag.

Rob's elusiveness is surely not a reflection of his feelings for Kylie and his other sisters, as he has been pictured hugging and hanging out with them on their social media pages.

Khloe Kardashian made way to her little sister, Kylie's, 18th birthday bash looking like a metallic goddess.

Kardashians have a family dinner for Kylie's 18th birthday

In one early snap, Rob can be seen biting into a slice of watermelon in the kitchen with a younger-looking Kylie before her glam makeover.

Rob came under scrutiny due to his weight gain that's been part of the story line on recent episodes of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

The furor increased when the 5 ft 10 Rob skipped Kim and Kanye West's wedding extravaganza in Florence, Italy on May 24, 2014.

'I call him my son': Khloe confessed to Complex magazine that she tends to 'baby' her brother, pictured snuggling on the couch with her

He's been living with Khloe, who has tried to help steer Rob to a healthy lifestyle with some frustration along the way.

Khloe, 31, confessed that having Rob live with her is perfectly fine although she tends to 'baby him.'

'Rob lives with me now, and I wouldn't have it any other way,' Khloe told Complex magazine.

Kris Jenner tells Khloe Kardashian how she wants to help Rob

She continued: 'I call him my son as a joke. I'll call my assistant and be like, "Did you guys ask if he wanted lunch?" or this or that and my sisters hate that I do that. I do baby him but I'm a maternal person.'

Khloe came to Rob's defense when momager Kris staged an intervention at her house, which caused Rob to lock himself in his room.

Rob made some progress when he returned to Instagram after a long absence.

A week ago Rob posted a shirtless throwback photo of himself chowing down on lunch by the beach, writing: 'Me just chill-zoning in Malibu eating a pulled pork sandwich.'
