In the two-minute trailer for the Austrian horror film, scenes are played out in a lonesome house in the countryside where nine-year-old twin brothers await their mother's return after she underwent cosmetic surgery.

While in the often disturbing scenes, the brothers begin to question the identity of the woman, wrapped in bandages, who they thought was their mother.

One viewer wrote on YouTube: 'I'm legitimately scared as s*** right now. The hell is up with the mother? And the kids? The hell is going on? I'm freaking out, this is the stuff of nightmares for real!'

The movie, made in 2014, stars Susanne Wuest and child star twins, Elias and Lukas Schwarz, who are already being compared to the children in horror film The Shining, according to Inquisitir.

The movie was written by Ulrich Seidl and has two directors, Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz. Goodnight Mommy will be released in theaters on September 11.
