Broken Foo-t Fighter! Dave Grohl and daughter Violet arrive at the airport as he heads off on next leg of world tour

He soldiered on with a broken leg after falling off stage during the last part of the Foo Fighters world tour tour.

And Dave Grohl seemed in high spirits as he prepared to head off once more into the breach with his daughter Violet at an airport in Washington DC on Sunday.

The famously nice singer has now taken to getting around on just crutches after previously using a wheeled support for his injured limb.

In fact he looked in otherwise great shape as he got into a minibus at the Washington Reagan Airport.

The 46-year-old star star was stylishly dressed down in a denim shirt, camouflage patterned shorts and wore a casual shoe on his good foot.

His nine-year-old daughter meanwhile went for a funky patterned summer dress and sandals combo, though she had also brought along her favourite stuffed toy to keep her company.

'What seemed like a setback at the time has turned into this beautiful blessing in disguise, where this throne and these crutches and these audiences make us play longer and harder than we ever have.

'It’s this whole new energy in the show. I think the spontaneity of this situation we’re in right now just brings out a smile in everyone.”

While Dave is heading out with his band, he is also featuring in the forthcoming Alice Cooper charity project Hollywood Vampires, which also features the likes of Johnny Depp, Joe Perry and Slash.

Cover songs featuring in the collection include Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love, Alice's own School’s Out, Pink Floyd’s Another Brick in the Wall, and The Who's My Generation.
