They played the very best of friends on-screen.

But Matthew Perry, 45, and Matt LeBlanc, 48, have confirmed they were not invited to former Friends costar Jennifer Aniston's surprise wedding to Justin Theroux last week.

'I was surprised,' Perry told Entertainment Tonight of the nuptials. 'I didn't know about it.'

However, the Odd Couple actor said he was 'very happy' for the newlyweds.

LeBlanc and Perry were asked about Aniston's wedding at a CBS, CW and Showtime party in Los Angeles on Monday.

LeBlanc echoed Perry's good wished, and pointed out that the wedding 'was small'.

'I wasn’t there, so I wish her the best,' the Episodes actor told ET.

And he told People magazine: 'I think they're a great couple. I think she's happy. And that's all I care about is that Jen's happy.'

'If she wanted me there, I would have been there.'

The Episodes actor also admitted he still regrets missed Aniston's first wedding, to actor Brad Pitt.

Aniston couldn't believe it when he said he couldn't make it, LeBlanc told People.

'I missed when she married Brad,' he said. 'I was in Austria working. She called me, and she was like, 'You're really not coming to my wedding?' And I was like, 'I asked them if they could change the schedule. I would fly and clap and fly out.' And they said, 'We can't do it. It's too tight.'

However, LeBlanc dismissed any talk of a falling out between the old friends, saying he was happy to hear former castmates Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow were able to attend Aniston's big day.

'Everybody is okay,' he told ET.

'The girls were there. You’ve got to have the girls there.'

While Perry and LeBlanc may have been left off the guest list, Aniston's former costar and best friend Cox was maid of honour at the bash, and was reportedly the last to leave at 3am.

Also missing from the wedding was former Friends actor David Schwimmer.

The pair are believed to have had a falling out after Aniston was dismissive of Schwimmer's then-fiancee Zoe Buckman during an appearance on David Letterman's show in 2010.

The former Ross Geller was reportedly hurt when Aniston told the talk show host she 'didn't know' who Schwimmer was engaged too, even though he and Zoe had been dating for years.

Schwimmer reportedly stopped taking Aniston's calls after the on-air diss, and didn't invite her to the wedding later that year.

Aniston and Theroux pulled off the hush-hush nuptials at their $22 million Bel-Air home on Wednesday by telling guests it was a surprise party for Theroux's 44th birthday.

They then jetted off to Bora Bora for their honeymoon.

The pair were engaged for three years before finally tying the knot.
