Kristen Stewart looks uncharacteristically girly in a plunging velour tuxedo dress for her appearance on The Tonight Show

She was rocking her trademark tomboy look in low-slung, ripped jeans earlier in the day.

But Kristen Stewart upped the glamour to make an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday evening, donning a velour tuxedo dress with a plunging neckline.

The 25-year-old actress looked uncharacteristically girly in her feminine ensemble yet retained a sense of her individual style thanks to the menswear inspired cut.

Kristen Stewart is definitely more of a skinny jeans, T-shirt and sneakers kind of gal than a girly girl.

But thanks to superstar stylist Tara Swennen, she's found the middle ground between getting dressed up to the nines and staying true to her tomboy roots. Check out Kristen's outfit for her appearance on The Tonight Show. It might look like a classic LBD but she's actually wearing a playsuit.

Kristen's cute outfit made the most of her slender legs, which she set off with simple strappy sandals.

She accessorised her look with a fashionable choker necklace and wore her brunette bob in a tousled waves.

The Twilight actress highlighted her piercing eyes with dark kohl and went for a subtle slick of pink lipstick.

Kristen's look was all the more surprising in contrast to her earlier laid-back ensemble as she strolled along the street in New York City.

The star was wearing baggy boyfriend jeans with her Calvin Klein boxers peeking over the top.

She styled up the look with sporty socks and a biker jacket, wearing a baseball cap back to front.

Kristen discussed her new film American Ultra, in which she stars alongside Jesse Eisenberg, as she chatted with host Jimmy Fallon.

She described it as a ‘fully formed comedy’ and sung her co-star's praises, playfully revealing, ‘I love him.’

The down-to-earth actress also joked about her reputation for being stony-faced off camera, saying, 'It’s weird that that notion is so perpetuated'.
