  • It features a dining room, hardwood floors, a fireplace, oversized windows, and a washer and dryer
  • Candace currently lives in Connecticut, and first tried to sell the home - which she owned with her ex-husband - in 2012
  • The apartment is located in the same building as one owned by Chris Noth, who played Mr. Big on the popular HBO series based on Candace's book

Buh-bye, Mr. Big! Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell is selling her New York City apartment, which is located in the same building as the actor who played Carrie Bradshaw's love interest, Chris Noth.

On the market for $2,645,000, the spacious one-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bathroom flat in Manhattan's Greenwich Village is listed for $255,000 less than it was when Candace first tried, unsuccessfully, to sell it back in 2012.

Her real estate company has photos of the bestselling author's home, which highlight such amenities has high ceilings, a wood-burning fireplace, and a dining room.

Candace has not actually lived in the apartment for several years, according to Variety. In 2012 - after divorcing from her ex-husband, ballet dancer Charles Askegard - she tried to sell the place for $2.8 million but was unsuccessful. Instead, she began renting it for $8,000 a month.

The apartment has hardwood floors, oversized windows, and even a washer and dryer - a true luxury for a Manhattan apartment.

Located in a doorman building that was built in the 1920s on 'a tree-lined street', Candace's old place is in the corner of the building, affording it natural light from two directions.

It has a windowed bathroom, half-bath, and kitchen, central air conditioning, and even a planted roof deck.

When the author, who now lives in Connecticut, first bought the apartment, it didn't actually look quite so impressive. In fact, in a piece for Elle Decor, she described it as a 'wreck'.

'The apartment hadn't been occupied for several years, and the last person who had lived there (or, we guessed, had used it as an office), was a movie star with rather bohemian taste,' she said.

The bathroom was old, the kitchen had no cabinets, and - in a shocking twist that would make Carrie gasp - it had no cabinets.

With the help of her friend Susan Forristal, an interior designer, she managed to transform it into a place that would impress even the millionaire-marrying Charlotte York Goldenblatt.

Candace 'rejiggered' the proportions of the apartment, enlarging the bathroom and making over the living room.

While she still lived there, it was decorated with a Louis XVI sofa that she bought off of fellow author Jay McInerney, who wrote Bright Lights, Big City. She added gold-leafed sheaf sconces, a palm-leaf lamp, mirrored side tables from the '20s, and a bar and mini fridge that she hid under a bookshelf.

'[it was] usually stocked with champagne,' she admitted.
