And chic Ruth Wilson showcased another sizzling ensemble on Tuesday as she promoted the forthcoming second series of The Affair during a panel discussion for the Television Critics Association at The Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles.

The 33-year-old actress showed she means business as she rocked a tailored white trouser suit with a racy plunging neckline.

Wearing her blonde hair pinned back in a swept-back side-parting, the actress emphasised her striking features as she answered questions throughout the session.

Taking to the stage with her co-stars Dominic West, Maura Tierney and Joshua Jackson, Ruth and the rest of the cast discussed the complex plot of the adulterous show.

The gripping drama focuses on the psychological effects of an affair between Ruth's character Alison and Noah Solloway (West), with each episode divided into the cheating pairs personal view points.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the cast revealed season two of the drama is set to see the complex plot that weaves between Alison and Noah's points of view expand to feature those of their cuckolded spouses - played by Jackson and Tierney.

It was a glamorous night at the CBS party in Los Angeles yesterday.

Stars from The Affair and Masters of Sex were in attendance with Ruth Wilson the belle of the ball. The British actress looked stunning on the red carpet wearing an elegant dress by Valentino featuring a bold bird print.

We love the combination of the navy blue background with the dusky pink feathered friends and the cape sleeves and open back make for sophisticated details that elevate this look to fashion-forward status.

The British duo play Noah Solloway and Alison Bailey in the hit show, which tells the tale of the devastating impact of an affair on the lives of the couple embarking on the extramarital relationship.

The Affair has taken America by storm since its 2014 debut, with one critic dubbing the series a 'bewitching exploration of truth and desire.'

Ruth and Dominic were also joined at the party by Dawson's Creek alumni Joshua Jackson, who plays Cole Lockhart, Ruth's character's husband.

As well as winning critical acclaim, The Affair is also winning a host of awards.

The show's creator Sarah Treem lacked confidence prior to award season, after she insisted to Elle magazine that the show was not going to scoop top prizes, saying: 'We're not going to win. House Of Cards is going to win and they'll deserve it.'

Despite Sarah's insistence, The Affair was triumphant at the 2015 Golden Globes.

On top of Ruth's Best Actress win, the show was feted with the coveted Best Television Drama Series prize, while Dominic was nominated for Best Actor.

The Affair also earned nods at this year's Satellite Awards and Writers Guild of America Awards.

Fans will no doubt be eagerly awaiting the show's return to screens in October.
