They had barely moved into their love nest before Zayn Malik ended their four year romance.

And now it's been reported that the former One Direction star and his ex fiancee Perrie Edwards have put their £4.2 million home on the market, just two months after moving in.

Insiders claimed last week that Zayn had already asked the Little Mix singer to move her belongings out of the North London home they shared, but now it's thought the pair have decided to put the house on the market.

In happier times: Zayn and Perrie, who got engaged in August 2013, had been together for four years before the former One Direction star broke things off three weeks ago

Zayn and Perrie bought the sprawling five-bedroom home, which was previously owned by a Premier League footballer, just two months ago.

Sitting on a 25-acre plot, which includes an orangery, paddock and kennels for their pet dogs, the modern home also features luxuries like a home gym and cinema.

There's a three-bedroom guest cottage and a huge terrace surrounding the home, which houses a pool and jacuzzi.

Both Zayn and Perrie were spotted at the futuristic-looking home in the weeks following his exit from One Direction earlier this year, with the couple thought to have purchased the stunning property two months ago after a househunting spree on the outskirts of London.

But following the news that Zayn ended the couple's relationship three weeks ago, reportedly with a single text message, it's thought the house is now on the market.

A source has told The Sun: 'This was the house where Perrie expected to marry Zayn and act as his wife for the rest of their lives. It was their dream home.'

The source adds that heartbroken Perrie has been left shocked by the couple's split, after they had made such a big commitment together.

'It's understandable that Perrie feels confused and led on. He must have already been having doubts about the relationship,' claims the insider.

'This was a very serious, major financial purchase. She thought Zayn was committing to their long-term future.'

Representatives for Perrie and Zayn have been contacted by MailOnline for comment.

Moving on: The ex 1D star and Little Mix singer had barely moved into the luxury home before their split

Another insider claimed last week that Zayn has already asked Perrie to move her belongings out fo the house, with the source telling the Sunday Mirror: 'Zayn's adamant Perrie has to move her stuff out. She's in America, so her parents will probably have to do it while she's away.'

The former One Direction singer has left Perrie heartbroken after calling off their engagement just four months after he quit One Direction to 'save their relationship'.

A source told MailOnline last week: 'Perrie is absolutely devastated. Zayn called off the engagement two weeks ago, she's so upset.'

The insider added that the timing could not be worse as Perrie had to go straight into promotion for the band's new single Black Magic in the US, where she's been getting some much needed support from her Little Mix bandmates.

Perrie Edwards looks stressed after news of Zayn split
