'Resident Evil training session!' Milla Jovovich gets into fighting shape with a hike in Cape Town as sixth sci-fi horror film gets off the ground

Milla Jovovich is set to begin shooting the sixth and last Resident Evil film - aptly subtitled The Final Chapter - this month with husband Paul W.S. Anderson back at the helm.

The 39-year-old Ukranian beauty felt a mountainous hike with pals was in order on Wednesday as her maternity leave winds to a close.

Milla, who gave birth to the couple's second daughter Dashiel on April 1, appeared to be back in fighting shape while clad in clingy leggings, two tank tops and a padded grey jacket.

The leggy, blue-eyed beauty was virtually unrecognizable with her brunette hair pulled back in a no-fuss ponytail and black-rimmed specs.

Her character in the Resident Evil franchise can be a don't-mess-with-me gal, but Milla was a friendly one on the Lion's Head trail as she calmly overtook the slower hikers in her bouncy trainers.

Milla greeted and shook hands with many resident hikers who knew who she was, in spite of the make-up free look, eyeglasses and casual attire.

And despite the slightly chilly weather, Milla was flushed from the exertion and radiant.

Before she set on her rigorous hike, Milla shared a photograph of her stretching and warming up those muscles.

'Stretching before a super intensive RE training session!' the actress shared. 'I want to send a big thank you to @aplrunning for sending me these awesome, light as air kicks to help me out!#residentevilmovie #capetowndiary.'

She followed that up by posting a panoramic picture of the town nestled against the hillside and ocean.

'Camps Bay, minutes before a light rain overtook us. #residentevilmovie #capetowndiary,' Milla wrote.

Soon Milla will be back in front of the cameras as Alice, the former secret operative and enemy of the evil corporation.

Milla and her husband planned to shoot the film last year but production was delayed due to the actress' pregnancy.

The blue-eyed beauty also has a seven-year-old daughter named Ever.

Preparation for production finally began in July with principal filming set to commence this month in Cape Town, South Africa; Queensland, Australia; Berlin, Germany; Moscow, Russia; Ontario, Canada and New York City among other locations.

The movie, which is set for release in 2016, will also star Wentworth Miller, Ali Larter and Bingbing Li.
