Captain Ameri-can't! Filming for Marvel's Civil War sequel reaches new heights as Chris Evans' stuntman steps in to scale Berlin building

Filming for hotly anticipated Captain American: Civil War reached new levels of extreme on Wednesday as the cast filmed a high-intensity action scene at the top of a Berlin building.

Actor Chris Evans even appeared to side-step the dangerous sequence as a stuntman, dressed as the Marvel superhero, was seen bolting at full pace across the side of the skyscraper.

Suited and booted in blue, the daredevil stuntman ignored the hair-raising height as he and actor Chadwick Boseman performed a chase scene while scaling the building.

Chris' character - strapped in at the waist to follow his horizontal movement - seemed to sprint across the building's ledge before taking up his iconic shield, presumably for a battle scene.

Winter Soldier (played by Sebastian Stan) was also seen on the side of the ICC Messedamm alongside evil villain Baron Zemo (Daniel Bruehl).

The highly-technical scene saw one character scale the building as another appeared to fall down the side of it and featured all of the essential running, jumping and climbing factors that make for the perfect nail-biting action sequence.

It's just another hint at the action-packed third installment of the franchise, which will follow 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier and 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger.

Filming, featuring action hero lead Chris, began in Atlanta, Georgia in May, and has more recently seen a transfer to Germany, where Chris was spotted filming earlier this week.

Chris was seemingly absent on Wednesday, while new addition Chad was kitted out in his all-black outfit to take on the ambitious stunt.

Chad will play Black Panther as big names including Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch) resume their roles in the comic book follow up.

In April, the actor proved that he's taking the role extremely seriously and says that he's not only reading the comics but also trying to flesh out the role with historical and scientific research.

He told MTV: 'I try not to see the whole thing, and just to see the parts that I’m on right now. Just these small parts are exciting.'
