Noel Gallagher watches on as his gorgeous bikini-clad wife Sara MacDonald shows off her toned and trim frame on the beach in Formentera

He once penned a song in which he claimed 'all I need are cigarettes and alcohol'.

And although rock legend Noel Gallagher might have been sipping a cool beer on the beach in Formentera last week, it was clear that the only thing he needs in his life right now is his family.

Joined by his stunning wife of four years, Sara MacDonald, and their two sons, Sonny, three, and Donovan, six, the former Oasis guitarist couldn't have looked more content as his family frolicked on the beach.

The 48-year-old Mancunian icon was spotted enjoying some family time on one of the Balearic island's many golden beaches, looking on lovingly as Sara tended to their children.

The publicist, who met Noel in an Ibiza nightclub in 2000, showcased her incredible bikini body as the Gallagher clan hit the sandy beach and azure waters of the Spanish island.

The brunette stripped down to a two-piece bathing suit as she waded into the waves with her little boys, revealing her trim and toned physique.

Teaming leopard-print bottoms with a strapless black bikini top, the mother-of-two put her taut tummy and lithe pins on display while ensuring her family were happy on the beach.

As Sara splashed around playfully in the sea with their boys, doting family man Noel procured a refreshing beverage for his wife - to whom he married in 2011 - and himself.

Clearly not keen on getting sunburned, the music legend took to the beach in a pink polo-shirt and black swim shorts, whilst he kept the powerful sun at bay by donning a pair sunglasses.

Earlier in the week the loved-up couple had snatched a few moments to themselves, as their boys played together, and were seen packing on the PDA as they cuddled up to each other on a sun-lounger.

And although the Gallagher brood were out in force on the Spanish Island's beach, there was no sign of Noel's eldest child, Anais - the guitarist's daughter from his first marriage to Meg Matthews.

The Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds star recently opened up about his desire to give his children the best possible start in life, saying he wouldn't ever deny them private schools, nice holidays and fancy things.

'My kids have got an amazing childhood', Noel - who grew up in a council estate of Manchester - said according to the Daily Mirror.

'I don’t want them to be scruffy oiks from a council estate. I don’t want them to be like me.'
