Mom, look at me! Katie Holmes shows her mother Kathleen around set as she embarks on another day of double duty for film All We Had

Katie Holmes certainly has every reason to be proud.

Not only is the 36-year-old starring in a new film, she is also directing it, so it can come as little wonder why she would want to show off her workplace to her mom.

On Wednesday, the star proudly took her mother Kathleen on a tour of the Nyack, New York, location for her film All We Had.

Katie has been hard at work on the film All We Had, filming back to back days while pulling double duty as both the film's star but also its director.

The first-time director was seen walking her mother around her set between takes.

The two women appeared deep in conversation, with the Batman Begins star beaming whenever they walk past her co-stars or crew members.

Casual vibes: In recent days Katie's on-screen character has been seen wearing various dishevelled looks, and her costume on Wednesday saw her look slightly smarter

While proud to have her mom to see her in action, no doubt the 36-year-old star is glad Kathleen came Wednesday rather than the day before when she wore a very short dress that almost led to a few wardrobe malfunction.

On Wednesday, Katie was far more covered up wearing a pair of flared jeans with pockets on the front and back and a spaghetti strapped white tank.

Clearly for her role, the look was further accessorized with a pair of sandals and backpack.

For the scene, a rather disheveled Katie headed to a mini-mart with Stefania where she picked up a slurpie.

Obviously enjoying watching her daughter work, between takes Kathleen sat down outside the store so she could feel more part of the action.

In the film, Katie plays Rita Carmichael, a single mom struggling to get by in the wake of the 2008 financial collapse.

All We Had is based on the novel by Annie Weatherwax, which follows the mother daughter duo as they try to find a new life for themselves in a small town of Grand River, Ohio.

The script has been adapted by The Fault in Our Stars director Josh Boone.

Katie was such a firm believer of the story that she optioned the book and now, in addition to director and star, also serves as an executive producer on the film.
