Savannah Guthrie's daughter Vale is celebrating her first birthday today, and the Today show host she was live on air, she took a moment to video chat her daughter in honor of the special day.

The 43-year-old, who gave birth to Vale last August 13, has proudly shared all of her daughter's major milestones with Today show viewers - and her little girl's first birthday was no exception.

While Savannah and her co-stars were having a heated debate about whether it is better to film cell phone videos horizontally or vertically, the mother-of-one shared a sweet video of Vale.

'If she was the cutest baby in the world, I would shoot it vertically,' Savannah said of the clip featuring her precious toddler.

However, the journalist noted that the only thing better than video is live footage, and she proceeded to use an iPad to video chat her husband Michael Feldman, who was happily holding the birthday girl.

Matt Lauer, Al Roker, Natalie Morales and Dylan Dreyer all wished Vale a happy birthday, and when Michael was asked if it has felt like a year, he admitted it hasn't.

Proud papa: Michael said he couldn't believe that Vale is already one, noting that 'time flies'

Chatterbox: When Vale started gurgling and speaking in baby talk, Michael explained: 'She has things she wants to say like her mom'

'Time flies,' he said. 'Everybody was right. but we are so excited she is one year [old].'

At that point, Vale started gurgling, and the proud father noted: 'She has things she wants to say like her mom.'

Michael was also asked about the 'beautiful' cake that Savannah made for their daughter yesterday.

On Wednesday, the anchor took to Instagram to share a photo of the decorations she was using, writing: 'This. #Vale #one #baking'

However, Michael joked: 'It takes a milestone to get Savannah in the kitchen baking'.

And because Vale is such a beloved member of the Today family, the show announced her birthday on Twitter alongside photos of her as a newborn, six-months-old and now one.

'It's a one-derful day in Studio 1A! The anchors loved FaceTiming with baby Vale on her 1st birthday! [sic]' Today added, sharing a video of the special moment.

Savannah also shared a photo of one-year-old Vale, writing on Instagram: 'And today... Happy birthday baby girl.'

In February, Savannah threw an impromptu party for her daughter live on air on in celebration of baby Vale’s six-month birthday.

After Savannah and Michael welcomed Vale last August their daughter soon became a Today Show fan favorite.
