Shayne Lamas' very modern family: Bachelor winner reveals photo of baby Lyon... after her STEPMOM acted as surrogate

Shayne Lamas has revealed the first picture of her baby son, who was born via her stepmother surrogate.

The former Bachelor winner, 29, and husband Nik Richie welcomed Lyon Lamas-Richie on July 4th, thanks to her stepmother Shawna Craig, 28, who carried her grandson to term after the couple suffered a miscarriage last year.

The happy family shared the first photographs of baby Lyon in Closer magazine.

'I’m so happy for my daughter and son-in-law, because they wanted another child really badly,' Shawna - who is married  to Shayne's father, actor Lorenzo Lamas - told Closer. 

'I was happy that we were able to help them accomplish that.'

'We all feel a little more complete now that Lyon is here and growing and doing well.'

Shawna agreed to step in and carry the baby after Shayne's life-threatening ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage in February 2014 that ended up with Shayne having a hysterectomy, leaving her unable to carry a child.

Shayne and husband Nik also have a three-year-old daughter, Press, and wanted another child.

With Shayne's egg, Nik's sperm and Shawna's womb the baby was born.

While it may be non-traditional, the family says the arrangement has brought them closer together.

'I was shocked that my dad was on board with this, to be 100 percent honest,' said Shayne of Lorenzo, who has starred in TV shows Falcon's Crest, Renegade and The Bold And The Beautiful.

'But I’ll always be grateful.

'It was the biggest blessing in the world' 

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing, with Shawna suffering a serious health scare in the form of a ruptured blood vessel soon after delivery.

But the generous stepmom says she would do it again in a heartbeat.

Celebrity Apprentice star Lorenzo agreed, saying: 'I'm glad we did it.' 

'Shawna wanted the experience of having a baby. I was glad that she got to do that - and that it wasn’t ours!'

Lorenzo and Shawna say they have never wanted children of their own.

She is his fifth wife and he has five children.
