Lady Gaga was not drunk when she fell on the curb outside a swanky LA restaurant last night, her close friend Lisa Vanderpump has told Daily Mail Online.

Vanderpump says the Born This Way star just tripped over after a night of high spirits rather than high alcohol consumption.

And the restaurant owner come reality star took a swipe at West Hollywood authorities blaming a 'dodgy curb' was at fault, adding that they need to make repairs after Gaga's embarrassing tumble on Wednesday night.

And Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star Vanderpump says that Gaga actually stopped her from tripping as well - by not not pulling her to the ground.

Photographers caught the 29-year-old pop superstar fall during her exit from the Pump eatery, which is featured in Vanderpump's Bravo reality show Pump.

She had been at dinner and even serenaded diners with an acapela version of La Vie En Rose by Edith Piaf.

However, Vanderpump insisted that the pop megastar had sipped just one glass of Rosé all night.

After the fall Gaga quickly brushed off the incident and styled it out, posing for pictures for fans waiting outside.

Vanderpump said: 'I would like to say she got wasted, but she didn't. We had a glass of Rosé each and we were having a lot of fun and laughing and she sang La Vie en Rose acapela in the restaurant, which was kind of fabulous and she is a good friend.

'I said "Shall I come out with you, or do you want walk on your own?" - and she said "No I got this, but I want you to come with me" and then she landed in the gutter. She was a good friend she didn't take me down with her. I just kind of looked down from above.'

Speaking at the fundraising luncheon benefiting the Hero Dog Awards® and the American Humane Association' Red Star® program at Pump, Vanderpump insisted that Gaga, who has spoken in the past of a battle with alcoholism, was not back on the bottle.

'Absolutely not. It was the bloody dodgy curbs of West Hollywood - they need to fix their pavements,' she said.

Lisa admitted that fans have been given an insight into many problematic areas of real life through the RHOBH rather than just sugar coated TV.

'I think it is very important when you see a reality show and you really see what goes on in other people's lives,' she said.

'I think it is fascinating and hopefully it does have a positive effect on people. I think honesty is one thing - if you put your life out be honest then you can garner support.'
