Former EastEnders actress Danniella Westbrook has reportedly had her hopes of securing a £200,000 Celebrity Big Brother deal ruined after show bosses said she is not fit to appear in the upcoming series.

The 41-year-old, who is in the process of rebuilding her television career, was tipped to enter the famous Elstree compound later this month.

But after a meeting with Channel 5 producers, the British star was sent to meet the show’s psychologist due to concerns over her ‘erratic’ behaviour, according to The Sun newspaper.

A show insider told the publication: ‘She was invited to meet them and alarm bells started ringing straight away. She was incredibly incoherent.’

It is believed that TV bosses thought the Danniella might find it hard to deal with the stress of being stuck in the house.

The source is also said to have claimed this outcome would be a ‘major kick in the teeth’ for Danniella, before adding: ‘That money could have got her back on her feet.’

Last month, Danniella hit back at the claims which suggested she would be joining the likes of Paul Danan and Janice Dickinson on CBB, by tweeting: 'No I AM NOT GOING IN CBB IN AUGUST ... I'm actually filming @requiem_film instead.'

Her latest stint on Requiem - which is a low-budget film about a suicidal girl who falls in love with a fallen angel - comes after she was unceremoniously axed from Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks before even setting foot on set earlier this year.

Danniella was due to make a comeback as Jacqui McQueen's prison pal, Trudy Ryan, for an eight episode run, but TV bosses had 'no choice' but to let her go after she breached her contract.

A Hollyoaks spokesperson at the time told MailOnline: 'Danniella breached her contract and it was terminated last week. She will not be filming Hollyoaks.'

However, Danniella's reps claimed it was her decision to leave the show because she couldn't bear to live in Liverpool, where filming in based, due to her ex-fiancé Tom Richards.

The blonde recently revealed how her doomed relationship with the 25-year-old cage fighter, who was arrested in April for allegedly assaulting and harassing her, left her wanting to kill herself with cocaine binges.

Detained in his home city of Swansea and after being held in a cell for 11 hours, Tom was bailed as police continued their investigation, but no charges were eventually brought.

A spokesman for the star said: 'Danniella left Hollyoaks due to the face her ex was going to be staying in Liverpool at the same time, as he has a training camp there. She feared for her safety.'
