A white vision! Actress Mamie Gummer wows in bright minidress as she takes to the red carpet for Ricki And The Flash premiere with co-star Rick Springfield

She's the daughter of Hollywood star Meryl Streep.

But holding her own on the red carpet on Wednesday night was Mamie Gummer, 32, who looked every inch like her movie star mother when she promoted her new movie in Sydney.

Attending the screening of her new film Ricki And The Flash, Mamie was joined by her co-star musician Rick Springfield, 65, at George Street Cinemas.

The blonde beauty walked out in a white long sleeved dress with a soft bubble-style skirt.

The gown, believed to be by the designer Valentino, featured striking black stitching.

Mamie matched the outfit with simple black shoes and wore light makeup, including dewy foundation and ruby red lips.

Her hair was swept off her face and tied back, with her fringe left out.

Mamie is the daughter of Meryl Streep and Don Gummer, and appears in her latest film alongside the actress.

Meryl stars as the character Ricki, a musician, who returns home to her family after leaving them to seek fame.

She appears on screen as Ricki's daughter, Julie, who has just gone through a break-up.

The film is expected to hit cinemas on August 27.

Make like Mamie in a white fit-and-flare dress

There's something to be said for a simple yet stunning look like the one Mamie Gummer wore on the red carpet for a screening of her new movie, Ricki And The Flash.

Her dress was pulled from Valentino's Fall collection, although her custom skater version was a bit shorter than the runway original.

The contrast piping adds a a bit of a trompe l'oeil effect to the LWD which the rising actress wisely teamed with a pair of barely there sandals.

Luckily you can snag Mamie's exact style at MyTheresa with a click to the right. But don't worry if the price is a bit too astronomical, the alternatives in our edit will work just fine as well.

This Maje version is right on the money and we're also smitten with the Wyatt number. Team it with a pair of adidas Originals for a sports luxe vibe.

For the screening, Rick dressed up in a black suit and wore a white shirt and black tie.

The Jessie's Girl singer had his longer lock neatly styled behind his ears and he wore dark frames over his eyes.

Earlier this month, Mamie opened up to Yahoo Style about working with her mother, which she hasn't done besides appearing on screen in the movie Heartburn.

'It was a little nerve-racking and strange at first,' Mamie said.

Taking on Hollywood: The stunner has opened up about working onscreen with her mother

'I think neither of us knew how it would go, especially because she's always endeavored to keep work and family separate and sacred in their own rights.'

She also spoke to News.com.au about starring in a film with her mother, and said: 'I know my mother really loves me a lot, but not so much to stake a $20 million movie on me,' she laughed.

'So her belief in me and my ability, it meant a lot.'
