There's been romantic rumours swirling around the pair for just under a year.

And now Kylie Jenner is 18, it looks like she be can open about her relationship with rapper Tyga, 25.

The teen reality star was spotted holding hands with the father-of-one during her birthday getaway to Mexico this week.

Confirmed? Kylie Jenner and boyfriend Tyga appeared to have confirmed their romance after nearly a year of rumours as they were pictured holding hands in the Mexican resort of Punta Mita this week

Wearing a white bikini, the youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan walked along the golden sands of Punta Mita clasping the hand of Tyga.

The pair were later spotted hugging as they enjoyed a jet-ski ride together.

The couple have been repeatedly photographed together for the past year, but have refused to comment on the nature of their relationship due to Kylie's age.

However, after she became a legal adult on Monday, it looks like Kylie and Tyga, real name Michael Ray Nguyen-Stevenson, will be more open.

For her birthday, Tyga splashed out on a $320,000 Ferrari for the aspiring model.

Tyga has been friends with the Kardashian-Jenner clan for at least three years, with Kim Kardashian's husband Kanye West executive producing his Gold Album: 18th Dynasty.

When he first started hanging out the family, Tyga was engaged to model/stripper Blac Chyna, mother of his son King Cairo, who was born in October 2012.

She's finally made it to 18 but life hasn't changed much for Kylie, the youngest of the Jenner/Kardashian clan. She's still living the life, spending her days here on a yacht in Mexico with her sister Kendall - oh to be rich!

If you're going to continue your birthday festivities on a boat, you've obviously got to look the part and Kylie did just that. It must be hard constantly being next to model sister Kendall, but she certainly held her own here.

The young reality star looked hot to trot in her bright white bikini and with its double straps and high leg design, this bikini was similar to the Frankie's pick she put up on instagram just weeks ago, but in fact Kylie's donning Beach Riot x Stone Cold Fox this time around.

In 2013 and 2014, Kylie's older half-sister Kim struck up a close friendship with Blac and was regularly spotted partying and working out with the model.

Blac and Tyga were also on the coveted guest list to Kim and Kanye's wedding in Florence in May 2014.

Along with her whole family, Kylie became friends with Tyga and supported him at the opening of his Last Kings store in Los Angeles with her sister Kendall in February 2014.

Shortly before Kim's wedding, a 16-year-old Kylie raised eyebrows when she was spotted wearing one of Tyga's checked shirts.

By August last year, it was revealed Tyga and Blac had ended their engagement, with the latter apparently devastated.

The split was revealed shortly after Tyga and Kylie were pictured together at the teen's wild 17th birthday party, which was also attended by Chris Brown, The Game and Justin Bieber.

Just a few weeks later, America's OK! magazine claimed Kylie, who had just turned 17, and Tyga were dating.

A source told OK! magazine: ‘Kylie always had a crush on him; but as she got older and they started spending more time together, things took off romantically.’

Tyga initially denied rumours on Twitter, posting: 'Don't believe the rumours, been friends with the family forever. We're all just friends.

'Rumours come and go. But you keep your shadow. Everywhere you go it follows.'

However, by March this year, Tyga appeared to be more open about his feelings for Kylie, posted a photo of her on his Instagram, captioning it: 'Certain things catch your eye, but only few capture the heart.'

Last month, Kylie's sister Khloe defended their relationship in an interview with Complex magazine, admitted that she too was in age inappropriate relationships when she was a teenager.

She said: 'I think at 16 I was probably f**king someone that was in their 20s, for sure.

'I wouldn't say I was even dating, probably just sleeping with them. But again Kylie is not a normal 17-year-old.'
