Bill and Hillary take the Hamptons: Clintons to spend $100k renting Amagansett estate for the last two weeks of August as they attend $1k-a-plate fundraisers at the summer homes of wealthy donors

  • The Clintons are spending their second summer in a row renting the $18m home of a Republican couple in the ritzy Hamptons town of Amagansett
  • During their two weeks on Long Island, Hillary has at least four fundraising events scheduled
  • One event, a luncheon hosted by fashion designer Tory Burch, reportedly costs a minimum of $1k to attend

As controversy swirls around the release of her State Department emails, and with reports that both Al Gore and Joe Biden are considering runs for the White House, Hillary Clinton is definitely in need of some rest and relaxation.

The lead Democratic candidate and her husband plan to spend the last two weeks of August on vacation in the Hamptons, spending $100,000  on a rental in the ritzy seaside town of Amagansett where the likes of Harvey Weinstein spend their summer.

A source told the New York Post that Bill and Hillary will head to the Hamptons on August 21, where they will be joined by their daughter Chelsea, her husband Marc Mezvinsky, as well as their baby granddaughter Charlotte.

This is the second summer that the Clintons have stayed at the four-bedroom home at 44 Broadview Road, owned by Republican art collector Andre Nasser and his luxury real-estate broker wife Lois.

The brown shingled home, valued at $18million, is situated on a hidden cul-du-sac just steps from the beach, with a spacious backyard and pool.

Last summer, Bill and Hillary were pictured walking their many dogs on the beach which overlooks Gardiners Bay.

Hillary looked a stranger out of her usual uniform of a pantsuit, instead wearing a long, flowy, blue cover-up while Bill, now much slimmer due to his vegan diet, sported a pair of SoulCycle shorts.

In true Hillary fashion though, the vacation won't all be spent cooing over her granddaughter and napping by the pool as she has planned several fundraising events at the summer homes of wealthy Democratic party donors.

A day after arriving in the Hamptons, Bill and Hillary will attend a fundraising event at the Water Mill home of Brooklyn Nets co-owner Artie Rabin and his wife Selma.

On August 30, venture capitalist Alan Patricof has planned a pancake breakfast with the Clintons, followed later in the day by a luncheon at the Southhampton home of fashion designer Tory Burch.

That night, a 'Full Moon on the Farm with Hillary Rodham Clinton' barbeque will be hosted at the East Hampton home of Hillary Leff and entertainment lawyer Elliot Groffman, with catering by Jason Weiner, brother of disgraced former New York Rep Anthony Weiner (Weiner's wife Huma Abedin is Clinton's right-hand woman).

According to Politico, the prices to attend the barbeque range in price from $500 to $2,700 per person. Giving the top tier donation reportedly gets you a picture with the presidential candidate herself.

The Tory Burch event is a bit more costly to attend, starting at $1,000 and $2,700 to attend and get a picture with Hillary.

Attendees can also be labeled a co-host of the event for a $10,000 donation, and an event host for $27,000, according to a previous report from the Post.

The Clinton vacation last year did spark some controversy, since it came shortly after Hillary claimed that they were 'dead broke' after leaving the White House in 2000.
