One leggy lady! Fergie, 40, looks youthful in Daisy Dukes as she shows off toned limbs on way to  studio

L.A. Love (La La) marked Fergie's first solo single in six years after the performer took a break from recording to spend time with her son Axl and husband, actor Josh Duhamel

However, the 40-year-old is currently on a mission to finish her new album, and was spotted heading to a studio in Santa Monica, California on Tuesday as she worked toward that goal.

The mother-of-one looked youthful as she hurried into the studio, sporting a pair of Daisy Dukes that highlighted her toned pins.

In July Fergie opened up about her new album, admitting that she hasn't been rushing for its release, because she wants to get it right with it being her first solo effort since 2006's The Duchess.

'I've been taking my time on it because I keep discovering old ideas I had from back in the day which are suddenly relevant,' she revealed.

However, one collaborator - Charlie Puth - did give fans a hint regarding one of the album's songs, while speaking with Digital Spy earlier this month.

He added: 'Fergie is so talented. She's such a genius. My mind was completely blown when I was in the studio with her.'

In June the Marvin Gaye singer shared a snap from inside the studio with Fergie, writing: '1, 2, HIT IT @FERGIE'

Fergie later re-posted the black and white photo, which showed Charlie smiling as he snapped a selfie alongside the Glamorous singer, who pulled a surprised face.
