The global meshnet project

Our objective is to create a versatile, decentralized network built on secure protocols for routing traffic over private mesh or public internetworks independent of a central supporting infrastructure.

Everyone deserves access

Recent events around the world have demonstrated the importance of the free flow of information in regards to human rights and the free exercise thereof. Unfortunately, existing infrastructure is susceptible to a number of critical flaws that render it vulnerable to disruption. This project hopes to supplement the current infrastructure to create a secure, independent network that can operate under any condition including natural disaster or general failure of existing infrastructure.

Getting Started Guide

The cjdns router

Imagine an Internet where every packet is cryptographically protected from source to destination against espionage and forgery, getting an IP address is as simple as generating a cryptographic key, core routers move data without a single memory look up, and denial of service is a term read about in history books. Finally, becoming an ISP is no longer confined to the mighty telecoms, anyone can do it by running some wires or turning on a wireless device.
This is the vision of cjdns.

The global network

Meshlocals are community projects that create a publicly-accessible geographically-local network of decentralized mesh hardware, owned by individuals, but working together for everyone's benefit. They can be stitched together from many types of physical links - WiFi, fiber optic, free space optical, ethernet cables - into one consistently-accessible microcosm of the greater global network known as the Hyperboria network.
