She's been enjoying a summer break in The Hamptons with her children.

But Gwyneth Paltrow, 42, shared an insight on Instagram on Friday demonstrating the less fun side of a long summer school-break... homework.

The actress posted a picture of nine-year-old son Moses, engrossed in his 3rd grade math homework.

The Sliding Doors star captioned the shot: '3rd grade math homework Summer math face #homestretch'.

Moses is seen studiously answering the questions, holding his head in one hand and a pencil in the other while on his wrist is a bountiful supply of bracelets.

The Iron Man 3 beauty has been sharing the more enjoyable aspects of their vacation over the past few weeks, including hanging out with Robert Downey Jr on the beach.

She also took Moses to see Taylor Swift in concert and posted a picture of the three of them together, captioned: '#taylorswift thanks for giving me and my little man our best date night ever.'

Chris Martin and the Country Strong star consciously uncoupled in March 2014 and their divorce was finalised in April of this year.

Since then, Gwyneth has insisted that her ongoing relationship with the Coldplay frontman was strong for the sake of their children, Moses and Apple, 11.

Speaking at the #BlogHer15 conference in New York, presented by SheKnows Media, Gwyneth revealed an insight into co-parenting with Chris.

'I think, unfortunately, though we couldn't stay in a romantic relationship, we're very, our values are very much around the importance of family and the importance of those relationships and I'm lucky that we're aligned in that way.

'And it's been hard, and you know, like, we've gone through really difficult times with it but we've always said these children are our priority.

'What that really means is, "Even though today, you hate me and you never want to see me again, like, we're going to brunch, 'cause it's Sunday and that's what we'll do!" You know, like, "That's what's happening! Like, the children are our commitment."'

Gwyneth is now in a stable relationship with US TV producer Brad Falchuk, but her ex-husband might not be ready to settle down again just yet.

He was spotted on Friday in NYC going into an hotel with a mystery blonde women, and has also been linked with Jennifer Lawrence and Kylie Minogue.
