West Ham show off claret and blue pitch as they prepare to say long goodbye to The Boleyn Ground

West Ham have posted a mocked-up computer generated image of the pitch at The Boleyn Ground painted in in their kit colours on their official Twitter account to celebrate 'Claret and Blue Day.'

Ahead of Saturday's home fixture against Leicester City, West Ham are encouraging fans to wear as much of the colours as possible as they begin to bid farewell to Upton Park before their move to the Olympic Stadium next season. 

Despite an early exit from European competition, the Hammers got their Premier League campaign off to good start last week with a 2-0 away win over Arsenal.

Manager Slaven Bilic, himself a former Hammers player, will be hoping for another positive result when he welcomes Claudio Ranieri's Leicester to the East End.

On loan defender Carl Jenkinson is available to face Leicester after being ineligible to play against parent club Arsenal. 

Should West Ham defeat the Foxes, it will be the first time they have started a Premier League season with two wins since 1997-98.
