West Ham youngster Reece Oxford returns to school to pick up GCSE results just days after impressing against Arsenal in victory

  • Oxford was giving nothing away as he left with his envelope fully sealed 
  • And the youngster is doubtful for Saturday's clash against Bournemouth

West Ham midfielder Reece Oxford was all smiles as he collected his GCSE results this week – less than two weeks after bursting onto the Premier League scene.

Oxford was in fine form for the east London side at the Emirates earlier this month as Slaven Bilic’s side pulled off a shock victory.

But it was back to school for the 16-year-old this week as he arrived at Alexandra Park School in north London to pick up his envelope.

Having already been compared to Rio Ferdinand, it’s unlikely Oxford, who was told by Tottenham as a youngster he wouldn’t make the grade, will need to rely on his results.

And it remains to be seen whether he as good in the classroom as he is on the pitch as he left the school with his envelope still fully sealed.

He may even have time to celebrate, or commiserate, with friends this weekend as Oxford may not feature in this Saturday’s clash against Premier League new boys Bournemouth at Upton Park.

The youngster has missed a couple of training sessions this week with the club confirming Oxford ‘has a small niggle.’
