West Brom midfielder James Morrison was left red faced on Sunday after battling with a fellow team-mate to take a penalty – only to miss it!

Morrison pushed fellow team-mate Chris Brunt out the way in order to take the spot kick during the clash at the Hawthorns following Nemanja Matic's foul.

The decision certainly backfired on the Scotland international as an outstretched leg from goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois kept the ball out.

Morrision could have given the hosts the lead with the spot kick after a bright start against Jose Mourinho’s side.

However, his miss changed the whole complexity of the game as Chelsea took the lead via Pedro and went in at the break with a 3-1 lead.

Brunt is bound to be a little disappointed, and rightly so because he has converted seven of his 10 previous efforts from the spot.

Morrison's blushes were saved slightly, though when he thundered home an effort on 35 minutes and then grabbed another in the second half.
