Phil Neville puts £3.6m mansion up for sale as ex-Manchester United defender focuses on new life at Valencia

  • Former Manchester United and Everton defender Phil Neville has put his six-bedroom Cheshire mansion up for sale
  • Neville, 38, is now living in Spain, continuing his coaching career as the assistant manager of La Liga club Valencia
  • Luxury home features six bathrooms, a steam room, sauna and spa, but costs a hefty £2,630.34 a year in council tax

Through the Keyhole's Lloyd Grossman (or even Keith Lemon) would have a tough time keeping the identity of this mansion's owner a secret.

For a start, the pool table bearing the name of the occupant in the colours of his Everton shirt (and featuring his squad number) would be a bit of a giveaway.

Then there are the framed jerseys on the wall - including his Manchester United and England tops.

WHERE IS NEVILLE'S LUXURY PAD?

Neville's swanky six-bedroom palace in Hill Top, Hale is a hot spot for footballers and indeed their WAGs.

With an average house price of £2.3million and located less than an hour's drive away from Liverpool, Manchester and major UK airports, it's no wonder.

Residents of the Cheshire village over the years include Manchester United and England captain Wayne Rooney, Michael Carrick and Emile Heskey.

Neville, who played for both United and Everton during his career, will have no doubt found this proximity useful.

And what about those of his Class of '92 teammates? Yes - the shirts of David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and brother Gary are also proudly mounted in what appears to be a well-stocked games room.

Who would live in a house like this? Well, Phil Neville of course.

The former United and Everton defender has put his sprawling pad in leafy Hale, on the market after he joined the coaching staff at Spanish giants Valencia.

And in a listing on the Rightmove website the father-of-two, 38, proves that not all footballers have tacky tastes that prove that money cannot buy class.

The 'stunning, detached family property' looks to be elegant and understated, a far cry from Footballers Wives.

Set over four spacious floors, the sprawling pad includes what appears to be an indoor five-a-side football pitch, large swimming pool and gym.

There is also an office, although with 14 bottles of champagne on a nearby cabinet those inside may struggle to get any work done.

Pictures of luxurious his and hers dressing rooms are included in the listing along with an adventure playground on the lawns.

The house, complete with sweeping driveway, features six ('sumptuous') bedrooms, six bathrooms and a steam room, sauna and spa.

In an August 14 listing, on the RightMove website, viewers are told: 'echnologically this is one of the most advanced houses on the market. CCTV, integrated music and video systems, HD ready, computerised lighting.'

There is also an en-suite staff bedroom.

However, anyone who likes the look of the house, which will cost £2,630.34 a year in council tax, will need to bring their wallets. No price is given on the website with the property listed as POA, which means Price on Application.
