Worry, hope... then absolute heartbreak: Sister's torment as she makes desperate online pleas for news of brother missing in jet crash carnage

Shoreham airshow plane crash: Sister searches for news of missing Matt Jones

As news of the tragedy in Shoreham, West Sussex, began to circulate on Saturday afternoon, Becky Jones nervously phoned her brother to check he was okay. The personal trainer had finished work and was heading along the A27 to join his friends at the beach to enjoy one of the hottest days of the year. Mr Jones, 24, always had his phone on but it was going to voicemail. So Miss Jones went on Facebook to see if anyone knew where he was. Yesterday it was revealed her brother Matt Jones (top centre) was one of at least 11 people killed in the disaster - his BMW engulfed in a fireball as the Hawker Hunter jet smashed into the A27. Worthing United footballers Matt Grimstone (top near right) and Jacob Schilt (top far right), both 23, and from Brighton, were also among the victims.

How did Shoreham crash pilot 'run out of sky'? Former British Airways skipper fights for life as experts say he may have blacked out during attempted loop

Shoreham airshow plane crash disaster: How did pilot 'run out of sky'?

Andy Hill (top right), who served in the RAF, was pulled from the wreckage after his jet ploughed into a busy dual carriageway in West Sussex. He remains in a critical condition at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, his wife Ellen at his bedside. One expert said the 51-year-old British Airways Airbus captain had 'run out of sky' and might have avoided disaster if he had had more altitude. His Hawker Hunter hit the ground at speed following a loop manoeuvre. The plane's two-seater cockpit appeared to have separated from the fuselage as it slid along the A27. Photographs suggest it remained ahead of the fireball from exploding aviation fuel. Onlookers dragged Mr Hill from the open cockpit. Pictured: The pilot tries to pull out of the dive (top left); his jet narrowly misses queuing traffic (bottom left), he tries in vain to gain altitude (bottom centre); but crashes into several vehicles (bottom right).
