Aubrey Plaza on life after Parks and Recreation, plans for an EGOT and her secret Zac Efron crush

Aubrey Plaza rose to fame playing Leslie Knope's (Amy Poehler) sardonic yet sweet protege on NBC's Parks and Recreation, which ended its seven-season run in February.

And in Elle's 30th Anniversary issue, the 31-year-old star opened up about moving on from her beloved character as she headed into a busy lineup of movies, including Dirty Grandpa and Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates - both alongside Zac Efron.

'I will miss playing April Ludgate for my whole life,' she admitted, adding: 'But I'm definitely ready to move on. Rght now, it's been really fun to play these other characters.'

Shimmer and shine in Temperly London's bridal collection

Love this idea, two best friends in matching dresses. Elle styled these gal pals in gowns from Temperly London's breathtaking wedding collection. While they make for unconventional wedding dresses, these sequin embellished silk gowns that fade into a a soft ombre are absolutely ravishing for a red carpet affair.

We love their simple silhouette, and the way they delicately hang from their figure in no real curve hugging way. Finished off, with a gentle sweep on the ground, we can't think of anything more glamorous!

These sequined beauties are not yet available for purchase, but to hold you over till Fall, we've culled together a few dazzling selections in our edit below. All of which will have you feeling like a siren of the silver screen yourself.

The 'This is 30' issue also celebrated women in their thirties, though Aubrey admitted she 'was not one of those people' who embraced reaching that memorable birthday.

'I feel like I'm 16 still and like I know nothing,' she said, comparing herself to Britney Spears' 2001 song I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman.

She continued: 'I still feel really young, but I feel like I've had enough life experience to not be a total a**hole, and I'm liking it I guess.'

Whether or not the star was ready to embrace it, she certainly wears it well, as is evident in her and close friend Anna Kendrick's stunning photograph in the magazine's spread.

The Safety Not Guaranteed actress showed a bit of skin in a plunging shimmery silver ballgown with spaghetti straps and a deep V-neck front as she held an umbrella alongside Anna in the rain.

Her short black tresses were styled in a dramatic bob with blunt bangs, and she had some dark eye liner, but it was balanced with natural make-up for the rest of her look, giving her almost a soft glow.

When asked about the future, the busy star - who has discussed one day wanting a Golden Girls-type series alongside pal Anna - shared she'd like to be 'chilling in my penthouse overlooking Central Park, with like 10 grandkids, and a couple Tonys.'

She also has a dream of achieving the coveted EGOT, which is when you have an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony.

'I don't just want an Oscar, I want an EGOT,' Aubrey said, explaining: 'I think Whoopi Goldberg has one. I just want what Whoopi Goldberg has.'

And while Aubrey hasn't checked off any of those awards as of yet, she has certainly been keeping herself busy.

She had recently been working on upcoming comedy Dirty Grandpa alongside Zac and Robert De Niro, in which she plays De Niro's love interest, which she admits was 'pretty intense.'

She followed that up with Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates - which she wrapped at the end of July - and was also alongside Zac.

'I'm on this Zac Efron train right now. I'm just riding it to the top,' Aubrey joked, adding: 'We're going to become America's sweethearts very soon, I hope.'

Next Aubrey is slated for upcoming comedy Joshy, directed by her boyfriend Jeff Baena, and co-starring Silicon Valley's Thomas Middleditch, Adam Pally, and her former Parks and Recreation co-stars Nick Kroll and Jenny Slate.
