Lisa Bonet is 'disgusted and concerned' by Billy Cosby scandal, according to daughter Zoe Kravitz

Lisa Bonet was shocked by news of Bill Cosby's sexual assault allegations, according to her daughter Zoe Kravitz.

Bonet, who played the comedian's daughter on The Cosby Show for seven years, has not herself spoken publicly on the matter.

But 26-year-old Zoe told The Guardian that she knows her famous mother was both disgusted and concerned by the scandal.

The Dope star admitted that she 'really hasn't' spoken with her mother about the situation but is confident in knowing what 47-year-old Bonet's position on it is.

'She'd plead the fifth, even to me,' she told the publication.

'I think she's just staying out of it,' Zoe continued. 'She's just as disgusted and concerned as everyone else is, but I don't think she has any insight. It's news to her as well.'

While the allegations have dominated the press over the last year, the claims stem from decades before.

Cosby's attorney has denied all allegations of drugging and assault.

Regarding the scandal, Kravtiz also said of her mother: 'She's a very straightforward person.

'If there was something she felt the world needed to know that would help this case or help any women who had been abused, she would say something.'

In November an impostor - pretending to be Bonet - slammed Cosby over Twitter, a rep for the actress later clarified that the star did not send the messages as she has no social media accounts

Bonet played Denise Huxtable, daughter of Cosby's Dr. Heathcliff 'Cliff' Huxtable, from 1984 to 1991.

New York Magazine interviewed and profiled 35 of Cosby's accusers in a July cover story that featured an empty chair next to the rows of women.

The chair sparked questions on how many more women may have similar allegations against the comedian.

Los Angeles police are currently conducting a criminal investigation into a complaint brought against Cosby, who has canceled TV projects and live shows due to the momentum of allegations.

Last month, Cosby lost a bid to fend off a lawsuit that accused him of sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles in 1974. He will answer questions under oath at a deposition on October 9.
