Shirtless Woody Harrelson, 54, strips off and puts his trim torso on display as he works up a sweat on the soccer pitch

He's famed for his appearances in The Hunger Games trilogy, and has starred in an endless list of Hollywood blockbusters.

But Woody Harrelson showed off another side to his talents on Sunday, as he spent some time playing soccer near his home in Maui, Hawaii, with a few close friends.

The 54-year-old actor put his trim torso on display as he worked up a sweat on the football pitch, going shirtless to reveal his athletic physique.

The father-of-three, who raises a trio of daughters with wife Laura Louie, looked in good shape as he sprinted after the ball, parading his chest as he aimed for the goal during the friendly match.

Showing the younger players how it's done, Woody showcased his athletic side as he sprinted after the ball.

The talented actor kept his lower half covered in a pair of khaki shorts, which showed off his golden tan.

Appearing to take the game very seriously, Woody decided against wearing any shoes or socks, aiming for the ball with just his bare feet.

Competing against a few of his friends, the star propelled his arms forward, doing his best to reach the moving ball.

Woody has demonstrated his love of football in the past, after competing in a celebrity and ex-pros match at Old Trafford in the UK city of Manchester to raise money for Unicef in 2010.

The Hollywood legend also surprised passers-by earlier this year, when he appeared in a kick-about in a London park, and then scored a hat-trick.

Woody, who was in the capital filming a sequel to 2013 thriller Now You See Me, was put in as a striker when he asked a group of pals for a game.

One onlooker who saw the star in Primrose Hill, North London, said at the time: 'Woody was walking along and stood watching for a bit before asking if he could join in. He just wanted a game and a laugh.'

The star tied the knot with Laura Louie, his girlfriend since 1987, in December 2008. 

The couple raise three daughters together, Deni, 22, Zoe, 19, and Makani, nine, and run an organic food delivery service.
