Amy is a big fan of the franchise, and had previously appeared on the third episode of the most recent season of The Bachelorette, during which she helped Kaitlyn Bristowe's bachelors with comedy tips during a stand-up date.

As she called in to the ABC after-show, Amy gushed: 'I'm so excited for you, Ben,' adding that she hoped the 26-year-old finds love, before throwing in her proposition.

Ben laughed following the Trainwreck star's suggestion, but then quipped: 'You have my number. Call later.'

Big news: Ben joined host Chris Harrison on the Bachelor in Paradise after-show on Monday for the big reveal that he would be the star of the upcoming 20th season of The Bachelor, premiering in January 2016

Amy took to social media to share a snap of her calling into the after-show. She looked laid-back in a red and white striped beanie and a grey hooded sweatshirt as she posed in front of her television.

She sported a wide grin in the picture, which she excitedly captioned: 'Thanks for letting me call #AfterParadise #phonesex @benhiggi'

Later, as Ben appeared on Good Morning America to discuss his selection as the next Bachelor, it was his turn to gush about the hilarious actress.

When asked how he felt about the Inside Amy Schumer creator appearing as a contestant on the show, he said: 'I think we should push for it. She'd make everything extremely interesting.'

He continued: 'She's hilarious. She's been great to the show, and if she wanted to come out, I would not be against it.'

Amy had discussed the possibility of joining the show with E! News after fans rallied behind the star, following her memorable appearance this past season.

And sitting down with Maria Menounos, she said she would be open to it, but only if ABC agreed to her three demands.

First off, the Comedy Central star said it would take 'a lot of money,' to make her the next Bachelorette.

She also brought up her candid personality, explaining she would be 'very honest and I don't think there's room for that in the franchise.'

Amy continued: 'They would have to say:  'We will let you be yourself.' I would say what was really up.''

Lastly, she said she'd like a change in the show's casting process, as she mocked the contestant's famously strange job descriptions.

Keeping it real: The star - who famously called one contestant a 'turd' - thought she wouldn't fit on The Bachelorette because she would be 'very honest and I don't think there's room for that in the franchise'

'It's like, 'former investment banker'?! They're like, 'flower enthusiast'? You're like, 'But what do you do? How come you could leave your life?' she shared.

Following the interview, E!'s Kristin Dos Santos tweeted at host Chris Harrison, writing: 'How can ABC nail down @amyschumer as #TheBachelorette? She shares her 3 conditions... @chrisbharrison you listening?'

Fans went wild after Chris seemingly agreed to Amy's demands, responding 'Yes' to Kristin's tweet, but neither have commented on the subject since.
