Jerome Flynn looks dapper as Bennet Drake as he shoots regal scenes in Dublin for series four of Ripper Street

He juggles two very different TV roles, which both happen to shoot in Ireland.

And while Jerome Flynn waits to be called to the set of Game of Thrones in Belfast, he's been busy shooting scenes for the fourth series of Ripper Street in Dublin.

The 52-year-old actor was spotted on the set of the 19th century crime drama at the King's Inn on Thursday, dressed in character as Bennet Drake.

Jerome, who also plays Bronn in Game of Thrones, was in his Detective Inspector's dapper three-piece suit as he strolled around set, stopping for a bite to eat in between scenes.

It was a busy day of shooting as Kings Inn, located on Dublin's Constitution Hill, was draped in Union Jack flags to double as London's St Paul's Cathedral for some very regal scenes.

A crowd of extras were in place for the arrival of Queen Victoria (played by Barbara Adair) for the drama which is set circa 1889.

While Jerome was in royal company on Thursday, there was no sign of his co-star Matthew MacFadyen, who plays Detective Inspector Edmund Reid.

The upcoming series of Ripper Street looks set to be one the best yet thanks to the addition of some exciting new names.

It was reported earlier this month that Shameless star David Threlfall was joining the period thriller as villain Abel Croker, while Harry Potter favourite Matthew Lewis, known for playing hapless Neville Longbottom, is also joining the cast.

Meanwhile, series one stars Lucy Cohu and Derek Riddell are returning to their roles of Deborah Goren and Constantine respectively following a long absence.

'From our new studio set in Ireland, it has been a delight to watch this cast reunite and grow,' series creator Richard Warlow commented.

'As these new characters' lives take shape on the page, it is a daily inspiration to know that they will be brought to life by the most magnificent troupe of actors Ripper Street has yet assembled.'

A fourth and fifth series of Ripper Street were ordered by Amazon in May following the US streaming giant saving the show from cancellation,

When the show was cancelled by the BBC due to poor ratings, Amazon stepped in to fund a third series, making episodes available to its Prime Instant Video customers before it began airing on the BBC.

Speaking to the Radio Times recently, Jerome admitted people power saved the show. 'It wouldn't have happened ten years ago,' he explained. 'There's been a revolution in television. The viewer has got more say. In a way...'

'I don't want to go too deep,' he added. 'You know, the power of campaigning is having a very – thank God – deep political effect. And it works in TV as well: there are hundreds of thousands of people who feel the same way. It keeps the establishment on its toes.'
