Somebody's at the door! Artist paints models from head-to-toe to blend into doorways and gates (but can YOU spot them?)

  • Bodypaint artist Jörg Düsterwald, 49, created amazing display on estate in Behrensen, Lower Saxony in Germany
  • Camouflaged totally in body paint, model Jana poses against backdrop of overgrown woodland and on a house
  • Jörg has been producing body art projects for 20 years and uses body-painting skills in a range of creative projects

There's camouflage and then there's being painted head to toe with such precision that you simply become the landscape around you.

That's what bodypaint artist Jörg Düsterwald has done with a model called Jana, who was able to spread herself across gates, doors and door frames as if she wasn't there - even while an unsuspecting man was on the toilet behind that door reading the paper in one shot.

The amazing display took place on a rustic estate in Behrensen, Lower Saxony in Germany, near the town of Hameln, where Düsterwald is from.

Model Jana is barely visible as she reclines atop a door frame in the ruins of a building in the rustic setting of an estate in Behrensen, Lower Saxony in Germany

This unsuspecting man going about his business on the toilet doesn't seem to have noticed Jana just round the corner, painted so she blends into the wall and the door

Camouflaged totally in body paint, Jana poses for the camera against the backdrop of overgrown woodland and on a local house.

In many of the pictures, the intricate detailing of the paint on the naked bodies means it is virtually impossible to determine where she is.

Jörg has been producing body art projects for the last 20 years and uses his body-painting skills in a range of creative projects including advertising, corporate events, and TV marketing campaigns.

His work has featured in several art magazines and in 2008 he was named German brush-painting champion at a national competition.

The photo shoots take several hours to complete and are heavily planned before the artist arrives at the location with the model.

The pre-painted model is then placed against an item like a tree or a mossy log and then Jörg adds details that will help to camouflage her using his portable paint kit.

Jörg has also painted models into a number of other backdrops, including car garages, music shops and fishing ports.
