Kylie Jenner, Tyga and Dr Dre among the stars fined for wasting water at their LA mansions amid record shortage - but will the measly $100 punishment really change their ways?

  • Kylie, Tyga, Dr Dre, David Hasselhoff and Denise Richards have all been named as having breached rules
  • California has imposed strict water laws to deal with severe drought
  • If celebs breach the rules five times they risk having their supply cut off

They are known for their wild lifestyles that play fast-and-loose with the rules, but it seems one aspect of celebrities' excessive existences is fast catching up with them.

Kylie Jenner, boyfriend Tyga, actor David Hasselhoff and rap star and businessman Dr Dre have all been named as the latest batch of LA celebrities to be slapped down over their water usage.

California currently has strict water regulations in place to help deal with a crippling drought there, but it seems these famous figures have failed to keep up with the program.

It is not known how much the celebrity pair were fined, though the amounts will likely seem paltry to the rich and famous, ranging from $100 to $500

Work a monochrome swimsuit like Kylie

She might be the youngest of the Kardashian clan, but Kylie is certainly making one of the biggest style impressions on her Jenner-ation.

The teen fashion icon put her incredible hourglass figure on display in a recent photo shoot where she donned a one-piece monochrome swimsuit featuring a high neck and statement front zip detailing.

The swimsuit is by a rather unknown brand here in the US - Zigilane - an Australian company.

The zip feature creates a glamorous yet sports luxe vibe, and we’re loving it in the chic black and white color block design.

What's more, one-piece swimsuits have overtaken bikinis this spring/summer 2015 on the trend scale, so you won't be slacking on the fashion front when you snap up a swimsuit like Kylie's. She's always on point!

So don't think twice about emulating Kylie's look and bag her exact pick direct from the website now (right) - they ship internationally so there's no worries on that front.

Otherwise make a splash with one of our zipped alternatives below. We've got a splurge worthy option at FWRD and a bargain buy at RoseWe that we're sure you'll love!

In records revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, Tyga's $10.2million, 12,000-square-foot Tuscan nouveau villa and Kylie Jenner's $2.7million, 5,000-square-foot Mediterranean mansion were both cited for water violations during the month of June. Jenner had two violations.

Additional violations incurred in the district at other times were by Dr Dre, Hasselhoff and Denise Richards.

David Hasselhoff and Dr Dre were also among those named as having violated the strict rules

A rep for Hasselhoff told NBC4 that the Baywatch star received one violation and it was for watering on the wrong day.

He said it was an oversight and the matter has now been addressed.

Kylie's violation comes three months after sister Kim Kardashian West's grassy estate made headlines after a rep told Page Six that Kim 'has no problem letting her lawn go brown.'

But when NBC4 flew over Kim's home, it appears she has no problem letting her lawn stay green.

'I'm not going to comment every time a helicopter flies over the house,' Kim's publicist said. 'She's a private citizen.'

The data collected by THR did not reveal how Tyga, left, girlfriend Kylie, right, and the other celebs breached the code, they were just recorded as having to pay a fine

California residents, celebrities included, are only allowed 15 minutes of outdoor water use two days a week, with no runoff ending up in the street or on adjacent properties.

While the data collected by THR did not reveal in detail how Tyga et al breached the code, they were recorded as having to pay a fine because of a breach.

The fine itself, a mere $100, acts simply as a slap on the wrist. Things get slightly more serious for breaking the code four times, as the amount jumps to $500 - though still paltry by celeb standards.

However, for five breaches, the water supply to a property is cut off entirely, which is more likely to make people pay attention.

Nobody has yet had their water cut off, according to the information uncovered by THR.

The Las Virgenes Municipal Water District has been cracking down on excess water usage in recent months.

The district has recently hired a private security firm to patrol the streets 24/7 looking for breaches, as California and Nevada look to cut down their water usage by 30 percent.

In the first month of patrols along 203 violations were discovered, compared to 455 in nine months prior to the new contractors being taken on.

'I have personally written letters to them asking them to take a stand on conservation.'
