Joe Jonas played the role of a good boyfriend admirably on Sunday, taking girlfriend Gigi Hadid and her mother, Yolanda Foster, out for lunch.

The 26-year-old singer even took the time to hold the door for the 20-year-old model.

Her 51-year-old reality star mother seemed comfortable with the youngsters as well.

Blonde hair loose and falling wildly down her back, Gigi went with a casual look but still managed to bring a little stylish glamour.

Her shirt was a long-sleeved, black crop top that exposed a few inches of midriff above a pair of buff-coloured trousers.

White trainers and mirrored sunglasses completed the rising model's look.

Casual outing: Both Joe and Gigi stayed casual for their lunch - especially Joe, who wore a T-shirt and jeans

Joe stuck with casual clothes as well, wearing a violet-hued T-shirt with charcoal jeans and trainers that matched.

As for Yolanda, the Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star kept her look completely simple with a white T-shirt worn with comfortable grey leggings.

The laid-back look seemed very appropriate for a woman who has spent much of the last year dealing with health problems derived from Lyme disease and faulty implants.

Later on Sunday, Gigi left her casual clothes far behind in order to attend the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.

Wearing a marigold gown with a deep V-neck and a high-slit skirt, Gigi took the stage twice during the night.

She first got the spotlight when she partnered with Miguel to introduce a performance by 21 Pilots and A$AP Rocky.

Gigi headed back up to the stage at the end of the night, when Taylor Swift's Bad Blood won Video of the Year - the model was one of many famous women to appear in the futuristic video.

Proud mum Yolanda shared that winning moment on Instagram, writing: 'Congrats to the next generation of kind and magic young women that lead by example.'
