Woah baby! Pregnant Kim Kardashian wears eye-popping laced dress to support Kanye West for his Lifetime Achievement Award at MTV VMAs

Kim Kardashian was out in force to support her husband Kanye West at the MTV VMAs on Sunday.

The reality TV star, who is heavily pregnant with her second child, wore an eye-popping dress that featured a lace front on the red carpet on Sunday.

The cleavage-baring dark gold ensemble looked like it was barely containing the 34-year-old's rotund figure.

Indeed while posing for pictures she made sure the tightly laced bodice was covering all the crucial areas.

Her husband meanwhile was similarly mono-coloured, wearing one of his trademark over-sized sweaters.

He matched it with a pair of beige trainers and trousers, which he rolled up to the calf.

Kanye looked totally calm ahead of receiving the highest honour at the MTV Video Music Awards - the Video Vanguard Award.

The prestigious accolade, also known as the Lifetime Achievement Award, was presented to him by Miley Cyrus - herself no stranger to VMA controversy.

The prize has previously been won by acts including Michael and Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, U2 and George Michael, with it last being presented to Beyonce in 2014.

The All Day rapper is familiar with the award, having given it to his friend and long-time collaborator Hype Williams in 2006 for his achievements as a 'film maker'.

Kanye, father to two-year-old daughter North, has been making music videos since 2003 beginning with his first single ever titled Through The Wire.

Since then he has worked on several iconic music videos including 2004's All Falls Down, 2005's Gold Digger featuring Jamie Foxx, 2007 Daft Punk collaboration Stronger, 2011's All Of The Lights featuring Rihanna and the infamous 2013 Bound 2 video starring his wife Kim Kardashian.

Kanye last performed at the event in 2013 when he played single Blood on the Leaves.

Regardless of how much history Kanye has made at the award show, his best known appearance was when he interrupted Taylor at the event six years ago while she accepted the Best Female Video Award to insist Beyonce should have won the accolade.

Rushing the stage, Kanye took the microphone from the blonde singer and infamously said: 'Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, Imma let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time…one of the best videos of all time!'

The rapper was then subsequently booed off the stage by the audience in attendance.

Kanye and the 25-year-old singer have since put their differences aside and were even pictured together at the Grammy Awards back in February.

The Style hitmaker recently revealed to Vanity Fair that it was Kanye's 'Big Brother' Jay-Z who insisted that the two superstars start afresh.

Speaking about the situation in the new issue of Vanity Fair magazine, she said: 'I feel like I wasn't ready to be friends with (Kanye) until I felt like he had some sort of respect for me, and he wasn't ready to be friends with me until he had some sort of respect for me - so it was the same issue, and we both reached the same place at the same time.

'I became friends with Jay Z, and I think it was important, for Jay Z, for Kanye and I to get along ... And then Kanye and I both reached a place where he would say really nice things about my music and what I've accomplished, and I could ask him how his kid's doing.'

Also there to see Kanye's big night was his mother-in-law Kris Jenner, sisters-on-law Kourtney Kardashian and Kylie Jenner, and Kylie's boyfriend Tyga.

But nobody was quite prepared for Kanye's acceptance speech on the night when he, among other things, declared he was running for president in 2020.

After being introduced by Taylor Swift, who drew plenty of laughs when she mimicked lines from his stage ambush, he made his way to the stage and simply absorbed applause for what seemed like five minutes without saying a word.

But as soon as he got started he couldn't stop, again blasting award ceremonies for pitting artists against each other, and accusing MTV itself of exploiting his antics just to 'get more ratings'.

The crowd didn't appear to be listening to what he said and just cheered at every juncture, while Kanye appeared to get more an more worked up.

Meanwhile wife Kim stood with Taylor Swift's arm around her looking as confused as everyone else.

He finished his rambling address admitting he had smoked a joint prior to the show, before declaring his intention to run for president in 2020.
