She wished her 'little maverick' a happy birthday on Instagram.

And in that fashion, Fergie and her husband Josh Duhamel, 42, appeared to take inspiration from aviation when they celebrated their son Axl's second birthday at the Chin Chin restaurant in Los Angeles' Brentwood area.

On Saturday, the couple were spotted at the eatery with their little one, who wore a pilot's jumpsuit and clutched a paper airplane.

The birthday boy was seen resting comfortably in his mother's arms just outside of the restaurant.

Fergie, 40, wore her honey blonde locks down in loose waves, and she also donned charcoal hued shorts that highlighted her lean legs and a pair of black lace-up ankle boots.

The Fergalicious hit-maker additionally wore circular sunglasses.

Her husband was also seen doting on their son while donning a large pair of neon orange sunglasses over his hat, as well as goggles looped around his neck.

That same day, Fergie shared a glimpse of their festivities on Instagram.

In the caption of a photo of her son wearing mirror tint sunglasses, the songbird wrote, 'happy 2nd bday to my little maverick axl jack duhamel #imtwofoo.'

Fergie and her husband are routinely photographed with their son.

The couple met when Fergie made a cameo appearance on the now-cancelled NBC drama Las Vegas.

Josh is currently throwing himself into an array of acting projects, including 11/22/63 a TV mini series, where he stars opposite James Franco and plays Frank Dunning.

Both projects are due for release next year.

Meanwhile, Fergie has been working on completing her next album.

In July, Fergie told MailOnline that she's not rushing the new album's release and is working hard to get it just right since it will be her first solo effort since 2006's The Duchess.
