Ready to rock! Colin Farrell marches to the beat of his own drum as he jets into Los Angeles looking more musician than actor

 It's the only way to fly - or at least land.

Colin Farrell found a simple way to ignore the hustle and bustle of landing in the fan and paparazzi packed zone that is LAX on Saturday.

The 39-year-old simply turned up the volume and made a beeline for his waiting car at the Los Angeles, California, airport.

As soon as the Irishman stepped out of the arrival area's big doors, he put grabbed his iPod and put in his earphones and blasted his own personal theme song.

And judging by his flight ensemble, no doubt that music was a big rock ballad, which really got him in the mood to hit the ground running.

For his flight back onto Hollywood, the star looked uncharacteristically well put together while having a casual but cool edge.

Colin rocked a pair of black straight leg jeans with a simple white shirt and a perfectly cut leather bomber jacket.

The True Detective star accessorised his look with a pair of brown boots and carried a forest coloured fedora and slung a brown duffle bag over his shoulder.

Of course being Colin Farrell, he could not help but add a touch of wild man bling, namely two beaded bracelets and a green headband wrapped around his other wrist.

Helping him with his rocker edge was the star's edgy, but not over the top, 'do which was the on-trend style of slicked long locks on top and shaved almost to the skin on the sides of his head.

The star is back in Hollywood as it was confirmed recently he's joined the cast of the hotly-anticipated Harry Potter spinoff, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, alongside leading man Eddie Redmayne.

The story is set about 70 years before the story of the world's most beloved boy wizard Harry begins.

Principal photography has just kicked off at Warner Bros. Studios in California this week, so no doubt his return signals that the cast will soon be on set too.

Colin's role in the big screen adventure follows his lead in the second series of True Detective which was widely panned by fans and critics alike.
