Homeland's Morena Baccarin's soon-to-be ex-husband Austin Chick 'demanding a cut of her wage and custody of their one-year-old son in divorce settlement'

Morena Baccarin, who made her name in Homeland as Damian Lewis' estranged wife Jessica Brody, is headed for a potentially costly divorce after almost four years of marriage.

Her soon-to-be ex-husband Austin Chick has filed for divorce and is demanding a cut of her apparent $1.5 million yearly salary as well as physical custody of their young son, according to TMZ.

The news site reports that the writer and director has asked for spousal support and for the actress to cover nanny expenses of up to $3,000 per month in the submitted documents.

The American site also claims Chick has said the 36-year-old's constant travelling to work is likely to have an unhealthy impact on one-year-old Julius' well-being.

In July, it emerged Chick had filed for divorce from the Brazilian beauty, citing irreconcilable differences.

The couple married in November 2011 and Baccarin gave birth to their only child in October 2013.

The actress has worked steadily since being cast in a recurring role in Josh Whedon's TV series Firefly in the early 2000s and has had recurring roles in TV series Stargate SG-1, Heartland and The Good Wife.

But it was her role as Jessica Brody, the wife of Marine and POW Nicholas Brody (Lewis), in Showtime's Homeland that brought her to prominence.

The part earned her an Emmy nomination and led to her being cast in the TV series Gotham and in the movie Deadpool opposite Ryan Reynolds.

While Baccarin has enjoyed considerable success in Hollywood, Chick has had a less high-profile career.

The first major film he wrote and directed was titled XX/XY and starred Mark Ruffalo and Katheleen Robertson.

It was released in 2002 and followed up by horror-thriller Girls against Boys, released in 2013, and the 2008 drama August that starred Josh Hartnett and Naomie Harris.

Despite her personal troubles, Baccarin has remained professional since the split was announced in July.

She put on a confident display at the annual Comic Con in San Diego, California, where she was to promote TV series Gotham, a few days after news of the break-up emerged.

Most recently, she held her head high as she stepped out to the FOX All-Star Party held at Soho House in Los Angeles earlier in the month.

Dressed in a form-flattering black jumpsuit, the talented star smiled sweetly on the red carpet before mingling with guests.
