She's been working long hours on set of her directorial debut All We Had in New York City.
But on Sunday Katie Holmes was enjoying a little time to herself as she took a trip to New York's iconic shopping street Fifth Avenue.
The actress, who was spotted hailing a cab in a sexy casual sheer top - no doubt enjoyed some downtime after filming dramatic gunpoint scenes on the city streets on Friday for her film.

The 36-year-old kept it simple in skinny black jeans, and a loose fitting see-through t-shirt which flashed her black bra and one of her slender shoulders.
The ex-wife of Tom Cruise carried her belongings in a giant leather bag and took it easy on her feet with comfortable ballet flats.
She covered her eyes in over-sized shades and stayed make-up free - leaving her hair loose around her shoulders.

Lace up some studded flats from Isabel Marant like Katie
Katie Holmes is spotted in NYC is her typical luxe casual look of jeans and a tee but spices the entire outfit up with some Isabel Marant studded and lace up flats. What would we do without these trademark lace-up flats--the strappy shoes made by the cool-girl brand that A-Listers can't get enough of.
Our favorite mom is looking so chic with her oversized sunnies. We love these gladiator inspired flats because they represent the perfect union of comfort and style. Furthermore as summer reaches it's end, these will transition into fall perfectly. What more could you ask for while taking a stroll down Fifth Avenue?
Of course you may find that these punky, strappy flats might leave you strapped for cash and that being said, we've culled together a few affordable options in our edit below. The Jeffrey Campbell ones are complete carbon copies!

All We Had is the first venture into directing by Katie, and tells the story of a single mother and her daughter who move to the small town of Grand River, Ohio in the wake of the 2008 financial collapse.
It's an adaptation of an Annie Weatherwax novel, and Katie's character Rita teeters on the edge of poverty with her 13-year-old daughter Ruthie.

Girl boss: She's headed back to the set of All We Had, which is the first venture into directing by Katie
She optioned All We Had last July, a month before Scriber published the book, which is Weatherwax's debut.
'I am very excited and honored to be collaborating with Jane and Josh on this project and look so forward to bringing Annie’s incredible characters to the screen,' Katie told Variety at the time. The Fault In Our Stars director Josh Boone adapted the story into a screenplay.
The producer from Tribeca Prods. Jane Rosenthal also told the publication: 'Katie has such a clear vision for the book’s irreverent, original mother-daughter relationship.'
'Her passion for the material, along with Josh Boone’s ability to tell stories grounded in the comedy and drama of everyday, will truly bring these characters to life.'
