It has been six years since Lauren Conrad left The Hills, and the 29-year-old has come a long way.

Now a fully-fledged fashion designer and happily married, the star’s days of reality TV are long behind her, and she wants nothing to do with any lingering drama from the show.

Lauren sizzles on the cover of Cosmopolitan’s October 2015 issue, and was asked by the magazine if she has any thoughts about Heidi Montag claiming she ‘tried to ruin her life.’

‘No… I’m not really involved in that anymore,’ LC admitted. ‘I don’t think it has anything to do with me.

‘You just have to focus on the good people in your life. Focusing on what you lose is only going to make you sad.’

Lauren and Heidi started out The Hills as best friends, but fans of the series will remember their very public fallout when Heidi and husband Spencer Pratt began spreading rumours that Lauren had a sex tape.

Lauren Conrad shows off her playful side in a Christian Siriano playsuit from his resort 2016 collection.

Christian Siriano was the winner of Project Runway US and started his own line with the winnings. Since then he's been showing at NYFW, carried at Neiman Marcus (head over to the right to check out his current offerings), and collection red carpet fans like Christina Hendricks. He's known for his feminine flourishes and incredible shapely tailoring.

This piece is a perfect example of his style. Girly but still polished, you could wear this to a ladies charity luncheon (add the matching blazer and some Van Clef) or to the beach bonfire for labor day.

While Heidi dredged up the argument during a February episode of Marriage Bootcamp: Reality Stars – her most recent reality TV venture – Lauren is keen to put it all behind her.

However that’s not to say the Laguna Beach alum regrets her experience.

‘When I did television, scandal was always around me,’ she explained. ‘And I think one of the best things [about that] for me is that your life becomes more “big picture”.

‘You have to develop a thick skin really quickly. It toughened me up, which is good.’

Nowadays, Lauren is gearing up for the first runway presentation of her fashion line for Kohl’s, and she is doing what she really loves.

‘Television was just sort of an accident… I never felt really strongly about it,’ the star said. ‘But fashion is something I feel passionate about.

‘If I hadn’t done TV, I still would have ended up in the [fashion] industry, but I definitely wouldn’t be in the position I am now.’

It wasn’t just her former reality television career that Lauren chatted to Cosmopolitan about.

The blonde beauty also said she has made her peace with being called ‘basic’ by Allure magazine last year.

‘I probably am pretty basic. But I’m also a pretty happy person, so that’s OK with me,’ she admitted.

Lauren will celebrate her first wedding anniversary with William Tell next month.

And she revealed that he was the one to tell her about her former flame Brody Jenner’s new sex and dating advice show, titled Sex With Brody.

‘I didn’t know!’ Lauren said. ‘He has a lot of experience… so sure, depending on what kind of advice you want.’

The fashion designer and author also posed for a stunning photo shoot for Cosmopolitan, and can be seen flashing some cleavage on the cover in a purple satin negligee.

Lauren also shows off her flat stomach and slender legs in a white lace bralette top and teeny pink top, and models a flirty pink printed playsuit.
