She's been living it up, appearing on various red carpets, at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival this week.

But Diane Kruger came over all camera shy when she headed out in the romantic city on Thursday, covering her face with her arm as she made her way down the street.

The 39-year-old actress was clearly hoping to slip under the radar as she stepped out fresh from the bathroom with her head in her hand.

Diane Kruger might be a fierce actress on screen, but it seems as though the talent may be camera shy off screen.

She walked in Venice with her hand covering her face (she's either hiding, or she's didn't have a V8).

Diane donned the monochrome look that we absolutely love, it's simple yet flirty. She wore a striped bustier, black skater skirt and gladiator sandals.

The German beauty, who is a jury member at this year's film festival, teamed the eye-catching crop top with a high-waisted mini skirt which accentuated her lovely long legs.

On her feet she wore strappy black sandals and she carried her daily must-haves in a quilted black bag which she slung over one arm.

She protected her eyes from the sun in a pair of dark sunglasses and held her phone in her hand as she headed towards her destination flanked by a bodyguard.

Diane has been specially selected to do the judging at 72nd annual event, where she is part of The Venezia 72 Competition jury, just one of three juries drawn from international fields.

Their jury will be headed up by Gravity director Alfonso Cuaron and also features American actress Elizabeth Banks, British screenplay writer Lynne Ramsay, French author Emmanuel Carrère and Taiwanese director Hou Hsiao-hsien.

The festival runs until 12 September this year and will review such films as Everest and The Danish Girl.
