If at any point he violates its conditions, which includes passing drug tests, he could serve up to six months in prison.

Afroman's publicist previously claimed the star was acting in self-defense, but Haley Byrd - the woman involved - suffered concussion and now plans to sue promoters of the show.

When the incident first happened, Afroman - real name Joseph Edgar Foreman - apologised for his actions, admitting he 'was wrong' to lash out.

The 40-year-old artist issued the apology in an exclusive interview with TMZ and said he actually thought it was a male heckler who bumped into him and not one of the two female fans who had been dancing on the stage.

Afroman, who was charged and subsequently released from custody after posting a $330 bond, said he was frustrated by the actions of the women fans and a man who kept yelling obscenities at him, and he is now he's trying to get some professional help to manage his anxiety.

In an exclusive video interview with TMZ, the rapper, whose real name is Joseph Edgar Foreman, blamed what happened on the fact he hadn't had a chance to have dinner and 'medicate' before the concert.

'It was an early show. It was Mardi Gras,' Afroman told TMZ. 'I had to walk about half a mile to get to the place. I had my frustrations to make a long story short,' he said.

Afroman told TMZ he was anxious as a result of a man yelling obscenities at him from an area at the side of the stage and frustrated by the female fans getting up onstage with him.

'These girls got on stage and I asked them to leave and I tried to keep rapping,' he said.
