Support to Mission

In CIA's unique environment, support to our intelligence collectors and to our analysts must be focused, agile, integrated, and 100 percent reliable.

The Directorate of Support (DS) provides everything the CIA needs to accomplish its critical mission of defending our nation. Serving side-by-side with our mission colleagues from the Directorate of Intelligence, the Directorate of Science & Technology, and the National Clandestine Service, our job is to ensure that all our mission elements have everything they need for success.

DS officers are often among the first CIA officers into difficult operational areas. We are responsible for getting key support functions — to include security, supply chains, facilities, financial and medical services and others — up and running. We are present throughout operations, providing ongoing support for each mission component. And, at the end of the operation, we ensure that people and equipment get out safely. This "first in, last out" support must often be performed clandestinely, with our hand unseen. But while the support we provide may be invisible — the results certainly are not!

We invite you to explore the many employment opportunities available to you, both within the Agency and across the Intelligence Community, as a vital member of our extraordinary team.
