She's whisked her two children off to the picturesque Italian village of Portofino for yet another summer holiday.

And Mariah Carey appeared to be in her element as she treated her four-year-old twins - Moroccan and Monroe - to an authentic Italian lunch on Wednesday.

Mariah, 45, was pictured tucking into cheesy calorific goodness in a quiet outdoor café as she fully enjoyed the delights of Italian culture.

The mother-of-two was pictured gracefully placing small slices of pizzas into her mouth one by one.

Mariah - who recently wrapped the second leg of her Las Vegas residency - made a slight effort to disguise her appearance by hiding her eyes behind a pair of large pattern-rimmed sunglasses.

She wore a face of day-appropriate make-up with a generous dabbing of rose-coloured blusher flushing her cheeks.

The multi-award-winning singer and actress ate with utmost poise, making sure to employ a high level of table manners to ensure her young children follow her exemplary lead.

Mariah emerged from the pavement café with Moroccan and Monroe and a handful of members of her sizeable entourage and the foursome looked fully satisfied after having refuelled.

She showed off her curvaceous figure in a light-weight leopard print dress which reached down to just above her ankles as she tottered out of the eatery to reveal her outfit in full.

She added a pair of chunky black platform sandals which significantly lengthened her frame and she slung over a casual cover-up - which came in the form of a black cardigan - over her day-time ensemble.

Her young kids were on their best behaviour and it paid off as their generous mother treated them to another Italian speciality - ice cream.

Moroccan - who was dressed in a comfortable blue ensemble - opted for a small cup while Monroe, who looked pretty in a pair of pink checked shorts and a frilly orange top, tucked into a large ice cream cone.

Once everyone was suitably full up, the family and their entourage headed to a harbour where they boarded a boat for a tour around the Med.

It was there where Mariah learned the hard way that she'd not made the most sensible footwear choice.

Thankfully, she managed to avoid a serious accident and stayed upright on her giant platform heels as she was helped along the plank to the luxury yacht by a willing member of the crew.

Portofino is just the family's latest stop during their endless summer tour which began in April when she left home to complete her Las Vegas residency.

In that time, she's been travelling with partner James Packer with whom she's been virtually inseparable.

Following her day-time trip with her two young children, she was spotted dressed up to the nines, enjoying a romantic dinner date with the Australian businessman who made the ultimate sweet gesture by handing her a single red rose.

The couple went public with their romance when they enjoyed a Mediterranean trip several months ago.

They spent time together sailing around the Balearic Islands, which inclued Ibiza and Formentera, on James' famous super yacht, Artic P.

James, 47, recently publicly praised his new girlfriend, comparing her to singing legends Barbra Streisand and Whitney Houston.

He told told News Corp Australia: 'Mariah is just incredible, amazing she really is...She’s a genius.

'Who else is there? There is Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. Not Madonna...Those three can sing five octaves...'
