Monitoring of River Water Quality
Updated: 11/05/2003

In order to identify trends in river restoration, data on pollution loads (tons/year) in nine rivers undergoing restoration processes in Israel were collected for three major indicators – organic carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus. The results, which were compared with estimates for 1994, showed that in some rivers – the Kishon and Soreq, to a large degree, and the Yarkon and Taninim, to a more moderate degree – a significant reduction in pollution load has occurred.
